Jeep has announced the limited sale of only 21 units of the striking pink ‘New Wrangler Tuscaloosa Limited Edition’ in Korea on the 2nd.
‘Tuscaloosa’ is one of the vibrant special limited edition colors of the Jeep brand, referring to a deep and intense chromatic magenta (vivid pink). Visually, the pink color is less visible during dawn or dusk, making it particularly effective as a camouflage color in desert environments. It is well known that a British unit painted their vehicles pink and deployed them during World War II. The Jeep, which was born during World War II, continues to inherit the ‘military’ foundation while showcasing a more modern pink vehicle.
Additionally, Jeep drew inspiration from the ‘21-gun salute’ traditionally given by the military to show great esteem and welcome during formal events, dedicating the Tuscaloosa Limited Edition to just 21 customers in Korea who possess the most discerning insights and tastes among the 6,000 units worldwide.
This limited edition enhances the existing New Wrangler Rubicon hardtop model by adding three original accessories that increase its collectible value. Based on the limited edition Tuscaloosa color, it comes equipped with a stainless steel door sill guard, grab handles for all seats, and a cast aluminum fuel filler cover that adds visual appeal. Moreover, a special numbering badge commemorating the unique 21 units has been added, providing a benefit valued at approximately 2.3 million won.
The New Wrangler Rubicon hardtop model, which serves as the foundation of the New Wrangler Tuscaloosa Edition, is a steady seller in the Jeep Wrangler lineup, boasting overwhelming style and unrivaled off-road performance. The 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine delivers a powerful performance with a maximum output of 272 horsepower and 40.8 kg·m of torque, designed for adventure even in daily driving with its 8-speed automatic transmission and low-range gearing. It is equipped with a 4:1 Rock-Trac HD full-time 4WD system, front and rear electronic differential locks, and an electronic front sway bar disconnect, offering top-notch capabilities on/off-road.
Bang Sil, CEO of Stellantis Korea, remarked, “We present the New Wrangler Tuscaloosa Limited Edition to the special 21 customers who understand and resonate with the values and essence of the Jeep brand with respect and esteem. We plan to continue communicating with customers through various edition models that leverage the brand’s rich heritage.”
The New Wrangler Tuscaloosa Edition is available as a single Rubicon hardtop model, priced at 81.9 million won.
