The brand boldly showcases its identity, paving the way for the future automotive market. This is ‘The New All-Electric MINI Countryman.’ The new electric model of MINI’s Countryman is set to launch soon, and it was unveiled on the 25th at the K Museum of Contemporary Art in Gangnam, Seoul, during the MINI Heritage Beyond event.

‘The New All-Electric MINI Cooper’ and ‘The New All-Electric MINI Countryman’ were both showcased. The New All-Electric MINI Cooper retains the classic round and charming image, whereas the New All-Electric MINI Countryman presents a rebellious image reminiscent of a rebellious teenager.

My attention is drawn particularly to the Countryman electric vehicle. Its size has increased from the previous 4,295mm to a substantial 4,432mm. It’s fair to say that it’s no longer just a MINI, but rather a medium or large vehicle. In the back seat, there’s enough room for a fist in front of the knees and two fists above the head. Of course, the space in the back may expand depending on the driver’s height.

In homage to the design of the first-generation MINI, the instrument panel in the driver’s seat has been boldly removed. Instead, a combiner-type head-up display has been added in its place. The MINI’s center display, featuring a Samsung OLED panel, boasts clear visibility that makes it easily recognizable at a glance.

All operations, including temperature control, can be adjusted easily with a simple finger drag, making it accessible for seniors who may not be accustomed to electric vehicles. The existing smart buttons have disappeared, replaced by a classic car-style rotary ignition button that evokes nostalgia.

Optimized for domestic use, Tmap navigation is included as standard. There’s now no need to fuss over connecting CarPlay or Android Auto for navigation guidance. The new Countryman’s faux leather seats offer a comfortable seating experience and significantly enhance ride comfort compared to previous models. The New All-Electric MINI Cooper and the New All-Electric MINI Countryman are set to be released in Korea in June.

Meanwhile, MINI will transition to an electric brand starting in 2026, with internal combustion engine models being produced only until 2025.
