Mercedes-Benz Korea has unveiled the detailed lineup of the medium-sized SUV, the All-New Mercedes-Benz GLC, starting pre-orders from June 8.

The third-generation fully revamped model, the All-New GLC, was first revealed globally through a digital world premiere in May last year. As a dominant player in the medium-sized SUV segment, the GLC has sold 2.6 million units to date, making it the best-selling model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup for the past two years.

The All-New GLC is expected to become a frontrunner in the premium medium-sized SUV segment through enhancements such as a dynamic design with powerful proportions, a luxurious interior, expanded cargo space compared to its predecessor, an improved driving efficiency with a 48V mild hybrid system, and the latest safety and convenience features. Initially, the All-New GLC 220 d 4MATIC and All-New GLC 300 4MATIC will be launched in the domestic market.

Killian Tellen, Vice President of Products, Marketing, and Digital Business at Mercedes-Benz Korea, stated, “The GLC is a model that has received immense love from domestic customers, combining luxury, practicality, and safety. With comprehensive upgrades, the new All-New GLC is set to redefine the concept of modern and sporty luxury while boasting impressive driving efficiency and versatility for on and off-road performance.”

The exterior of the All-New GLC features an extended body length of up to 55 mm compared to the previous generation, showcasing a more dynamic and powerful proportion, while the new front design highlights the vehicle’s width with the headlamps connected to the radiator grille.

The All-New GLC 220 d 4MATIC features an Avantgarde design with chrome accents and a dark grey Louvre-style radiator grille. The All-New GLC 300 4MATIC is equipped with AMG-line design that enhances sportiness, including the Mercedes-Benz pattern radiator grille, an AMG front apron with a sleek air intake design, a rear apron with an AMG performance look diffuser, and AMG side sill panels.

The smooth side design emphasizes a dynamic body ratio and muscular wheel arches, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.29Cd, which is 0.02Cd better than the previous generation. The rear end also emphasizes width through a three-dimensional rear lamp design.

The interior of the All-New GLC embodies a luxurious combination of modernity and sportiness. At the top of the dashboard, vent shapes reminiscent of aircraft engine nacelles are placed, with the center console slightly inclined toward the driver’s seat.

A 12.3 inch high-resolution LCD screen occupies the driver’s section, while an 11.9 inch display is set in the center. The latest version of Mercedes-Benz’s infotainment system, MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience), provides a more intuitive and digitalized user experience. Additionally, a new multifunctional sports steering wheel with improved switch pads and touch control buttons and a sporty seat design where the headrest connects to the backrest create an enhanced sporty feel.

Moreover, the All-New GLC has a wheelbase extended by 15 mm compared to the previous model, and the trunk space has increased by 70L, allowing for a maximum trunk capacity of 620L when the second-row seats are folded down, providing a more comfortable and spacious experience.

Both the All-New GLC 220 d 4MATIC and All-New GLC 300 4MATIC come with a mild hybrid system that combines a 4-cylinder diesel or gasoline engine with a 48V electric system. This system provides additional electric support to the internal combustion engine via a second-generation integrated starter-generator (ISG), delivering up to 17 kW and 200 Nm of output and torque for smooth and quick engine starts. It also supports gliding, boosting, and regenerative braking for enhanced efficiency.

Additionally, the All-New GLC is equipped with a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system that offers excellent grip on any surface and an off-road driving mode, ensuring driving safety and capability both on and off the road. The newly revamped off-road screen visually displays information required for off-road driving, such as the road gradient, incline, terrain altitude, geographic coordinates, compass, and steering angle through the driver and central displays. It also offers rear axle steering supporting up to 4.5 degrees of steering and reduces the turning radius by 90 cm, along with optional AIRMATIC air suspension.

The All-New GLC features the latest driving assistance systems and various advanced safety and convenience specifications to create a safer and more comfortable driving environment.

Firstly, digital light (DIGITAL LIGHT) with over 2.6 million pixels per vehicle, featuring 1.3 million micro-mirrors, is standard and supports safe driving without hindering the view of other drivers by adjusting the brightness of individual headlamp pixels based on real-time data collected by cameras, sensors, and navigation. Furthermore, a total of 10 airbags, including rear side airbags, ensure the safety of all passengers.

The latest version of the driving assistance system, the “Driving Assistance Package Plus,” comes standard. The Active Distance Assist Distronic, which maintains a safe distance to the vehicle in front and supports automatic speed control, braking, and starting, has been improved to react to stationary vehicles on the road at speeds of up to 100 km/h (previously 60 km/h).

Active Steering Assist has added lane detection functionality using the 360-degree camera, and the Traffic Sign Assist now recognizes not only speed limit signs but also road construction signs and condition signs such as “wet road.”

Additionally, the Active Lane Keeping Assist controls steering to return the vehicle to its original lane or vibrates the steering wheel as a warning if the vehicle drifts out of its lane, while the Active Lane Change Assist helps the driver safely change lanes. The Pre-Safe Impulse Side inflates the side bolsters to protect front seat occupants in the event of a side collision.

Other features include ambient lighting with 64 color options for customizing the interior atmosphere according to mood, running boards for safe entry and exit, a Winter Package with a heated steering wheel and heated windshield washer system, sound and thermal insulating glass for a comfortable drive, and heated and ventilated front seats as standard.

The All-New GLC 300 4MATIC is equipped with a Burmester® Surround Sound System that delivers a new level of audio experience with 15 premium speakers, 710W output, and sound personalization features.
