“A future-oriented car packed with top technology and innovation,” said Thomas Primus, the head of Porsche Panamera, to the press. Porsche launched the 3rd generation Panamera on April 2 at the Shilla Hotel in Jangchung-dong, Seoul.

The Panamera, Porsche’s four-door sports car and luxury sedan, has been the centerpiece of the Porsche lineup since its debut in 2009. Last year, Porsche Korea recorded its highest sales ever with 11,000 units, with the Panamera contributing significantly with 1,800 units sold.

With 1,800 units sold, Korea ranks third in the world after China and the United States in Panamera sales. This reflects the strong affection of Koreans for the Panamera.

The newly transformed 3rd generation Panamera features new air intakes around the front license plate area, accentuating its dynamic face. The horizontally sleek taillights create an illusion of increased width.

Measuring 5,050×1,935×1,425mm, the new model shows slight size adjustments compared to its predecessor (5,049×1,937×1,423mm). The smooth curves from the A-pillar to the D-pillar give it an appearance reminiscent of an impeccably tailored suit.

In addition to the center display, a 10.9-inch passenger monitor has been added, allowing passengers to take a break from their smartphones and enjoy the car’s infotainment system during long trips.

The pinnacle of the Panamera range, the Turbo e-Hybrid model has significantly enhanced electric driving performance. The battery capacity has increased to 25.9 kWh, allowing for a maximum range of 93 km on a full charge, which is a 75% improvement over previous PHEV models. Combined with a 4-liter V8 turbo engine, the system delivers a tremendous output of 680 horsepower and a torque of 94.9 kg.m.

A highlight of the Panamera Turbo e-Hybrid is the Active Ride Function technology, which allows for easy height adjustments, making boarding and alighting more comfortable. Additionally, in sports plus mode, the dynamic ground clearance feature lowers the vehicle height by 30mm during high-speed cornering for improved agility and stability.

Thomas Primus emphasized that the “top technology, innovation, and future-oriented design” have placed the Panamera in the best-selling model spot in Korea. The 3rd generation Panamera perfectly captures the elements loved by Koreans, ensuring a smooth arrival in the domestic market.
