Tada is utilizing its driver app features to reduce sudden braking and deceleration rates in its premium taxi lineups, ‘Tada Next’ and ‘Tada Plus’, by as much as 35%, significantly enhancing the user ride experience.

To achieve this, Tada has implemented a speed detection system that monitors sudden braking and deceleration for drivers during operation and provides app notifications for safe driving. Additionally, the driver app offers a ‘Driving Lab’ report service, allowing drivers to check their safety driving performance. Through the report, drivers can see statistics on sudden acceleration and deceleration for each ride as well as for all rides.

Tada plans to lower the average incidents of sudden braking and deceleration per hour, currently at about 29.5 times, to below 19 times. In fact, the most common type of taxi accidents occurs due to sudden acceleration, speeding, and sudden deceleration. Notably, taxi drivers engaging in risky driving behaviors are 1.3 times more likely to cause accidents compared to accident-free drivers, with sudden acceleration being 1.43 times and sudden deceleration being 1.94 times more prevalent.

Tada is also running a ‘Money Capsule’ app event aimed at drivers of its safe driving Tada Next and Plus services. If the number of sudden accelerations and decelerations during a ride meets the criteria set by the app, drivers can earn a random money capsule benefit of up to 100,000 KRW.

Lee Mu-yeon, Product Owner of Tada’s Ride Experience Division, stated, “Tada is a mobility company that provides a differentiated riding experience based on data and systems,” adding, “We hope you experience the standard of safe and comfortable travel with Tada.”

CEO Lee Jung-haeng emphasized, “Offering features that encourage safe driving among drivers will set Tada as a leader in the domestic industry,” and added, “We will continue to develop products for both users and drivers to set new standards for mobility.”
