The second round of the ‘2024 Radical Cup Asia’, the only prototype racing series in the country, was held from May 18 to 19 at the Yeongam Korea International Circuit as part of the 2024 One Super Race Championship.

This round was conducted as the ‘2024 Asia Motorsport Carnival’, supported by Jeollanam-do and organized by SuperRace. Since 2014, the Asia Motorsport Carnival has been an annual event held by SuperRace to foster cultural exchanges within Asia and promote the globalization of domestic motorsports, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy through the unique tourism resources of the Yeongam International Circuit.

As an international competition, the second round of the 2024 Radical Cup Korea featured five guest drivers invited from overseas across the SR10, SR3, and SR1 classes, setting it apart as part of the ‘Radical Cup Asia’. Notable participants included veteran driver ‘Chris Van Der Drift’, with over 350 race experiences and 160 podium finishes; ‘Daniel Lu’, who debuted in the 2018 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and became the season champion in 2021; ‘Yo (Phasarit Phromsombat)’, a Thai driver with victories in various motorsport categories like Thai Super Series and Buriram endurance race; ‘Presley Matono’, the first Asian to win the World Series Karting Final Cup in 2014; and ‘Kat (Natanit Riwatanavalakul)’, who holds numerous wins in GT4, TCR, and rally competitions. This round was considered a great opportunity for local drivers to compete and grow alongside international talents.

Moreover, Radical Korea captured attention by establishing a team lounge at an international competition level for this ‘Radical Cup Asia’ round. They provided differentiated driver support infrastructure, including personal lockers, changing rooms, and meeting rooms, showcasing careful consideration to enhance the drivers’ performance.
