Tmap Mobility announced the rankings of driving scores for domestic and imported vehicles on the 21st.

This ranking is based on the average driving scores of users who have registered more than 5,000 domestic and over 4,000 imported vehicles on the TMAP platform as of the end of last month and have driven over 500 km.

The top domestic vehicle was the Niro, which achieved an overwhelming average score of 88 points. The scores for ranks two through ten were relatively close, ranging from 83 to 84 points. The QM6, Carnival, Ray, SM5, Sorento, Santa Fe, and Grandeur also made the list.

The difference in average driving scores for imported vehicles was significant compared to domestic cars. The top five, including the Lexus ES, Tesla Model Y, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Ford Explorer, showed slight variations with scores averaging between 83 and 86 points, whereas from rank eight onward, scores dropped into the 70s. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3 Series recorded scores of 77 and 74 points, respectively, remaining outside the top rankings.

The TMAP driving score is an indicator that translates the safe driving levels of users into scores by analyzing driving data such as speeding, sudden acceleration, and sudden braking. Tmap Mobility links the converted scores to economic benefits like insurance premium discounts to encourage safe and eco-friendly driving.

As of 2023, TMAP’s special contract products are offered by nine of the twelve car insurance companies in the country. The number of eligible drivers for driving score insurance has increased to 9.43 million, a 74.63% rise compared to 5.4 million in 2021.

Hwang Hyun-ho, the leader of the driving score platform, stated, “By registering vehicle information on TMAP, users can check the average score for their car type and their personal ranking,” adding, “We will continue to encourage safe driving among drivers and strive to add convenient services like vehicle management.”

Meanwhile, Tmap Mobility is conducting an event where users who register new vehicle profiles on the TMAP platform will receive gifts. They will draw 10,000 users who register by December 22 to win various prizes, including car cooling bags, GS25 gift vouchers, and Mega Coffee gift certificates.
