“I will make sure to fix it properly without having customers come back multiple times.” This is the statement from Kim Bang-shin, CEO of Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicles.

Tata Daewoo held a media briefing on the launch of the 2023 Thessen medium truck at its headquarters in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province, on February 2.

Since its launch in 2020, Thessen has become a dark horse in the medium truck market, surpassing cumulative sales of 5,000 units. However, no matter how good a product is, after-sales service must also be satisfactory. CEO Kim shared his honest thoughts on Tata Daewoo’s after-sales service.

Kim explained, “Currently, there are 78 service centers nationwide for Tata Daewoo commercial vehicles, which is sufficient.” Compared to Volvo Trucks, which has 31 centers, and Scania with 24, the number is not lacking. However, Kim noted, “Many customers visit centers four or more times for the same issue,” and pledged, “We will work with our technicians to ensure that we fix it right the first time and not waste our customers’ time with recurring problems.”

Kim expressed confidence saying, “By 2025, Tata Daewoo will establish a full lineup of truck products and with solid service, we aim to surpass Hyundai and become the best domestic truck brand competing with imported trucks like Volvo, Scania, and Mercedes-Benz.”
