Ssangyong Motor is implementing an ‘Infocon-based Safe Driving Service’ that aids customers in safe driving and offers discounts on car insurance premiums.
In partnership with KB Insurance, Ssangyong is providing a ‘Connected Car Safe Driving Discount Clause’ promotion, a type of UBI (Usage-Based Insurance) that analyzes vehicle operation data to offer insurance premium discounts based on the data collected.
By analyzing the driving data of customers who have agreed to use the ‘Safe Driving Service’ among Infocon users, they receive a safe driving score. Customers can then benefit from discounts on their insurance premiums based on this score. The safe driving score is calculated based on driving behaviors such as rapid acceleration, harsh braking, late-night driving frequency, etc., and can be checked in the Infocon app under ‘Menu> Service Information’.
For those who have driven for over 1,000 km or within the last 90 days, if the safe driving score exceeds 70 points, they will receive the ‘Connected Car Safe Driving Discount Clause’ benefits, allowing for a total insurance premium discount of 12.3%. Additional combinations with ECO mileage discounts can provide further savings, allowing discounts ranging from 5% to 35% depending on the driving distance.
Without needing to submit extra documents, customers can conveniently check their safe driving score through the Infocon service app, enhancing user convenience.
Additionally, by using the Infocon Web/App during insurance registration, customers can enjoy a card discount of up to 30,000 won, and if they install lane departure and forward collision warning systems, they can receive a 7% discount.
Meanwhile, Ssangyong’s Infocon is one of the country’s top AI-based advanced connected car systems, providing a wide range of services, including remote control, safety and security, vehicle management, assistance, information, and entertainment.
A representative from Ssangyong stated, “Since July 2022, we have been providing the safe driving service (Connected Car Safe Driving Discount Clause) through a partnership with Hyundai Marine, and we plan to continuously expand our network of partner insurance companies. We aim to introduce various services utilizing connected car mobility technology so that more customers can enjoy a convenient and safe driving experience.”
