The luxurious sports sedan G70 is back with improved agility and powerful driving performance.
Genesis has launched the G70’s refreshed model, the ‘2023 G70 · G70 Shooting Brake’, and has commenced full-scale sales.
The 2023 G70 & G70 Shooting Brake features a new 2.5 Turbo engine, standard high-performance Brembo brakes, detailed enhancements emphasizing luxury in both interior and exterior, and added convenience features, significantly boosting driving, braking performance, and comfort.
Genesis has newly added the gasoline 2.5 Turbo engine to the 2023 G70 & G70 Shooting Brake as standard equipment.
As a result, Genesis offers the G70 with two engine lineups: the gasoline 2.5 Turbo and the existing gasoline 3.3 Turbo, while the G70 Shooting Brake will be available only with the gasoline 2.5 Turbo engine.
The base gasoline 2.5 Turbo engine boasts over 50 horsepower compared to the previous 2.0 Turbo engine, delivering a maximum output of 304 horsepower (ps) and peak torque of 43.0 (kgㆍm), showcasing top-tier dynamic performance within its class.
Genesis has equipped all models with high-performance Brembo brakes as standard, ensuring powerful braking performance.
Equipped with the gasoline 2.5 Turbo engine and high-performance Brembo brakes, the 2023 G70 · G70 Shooting Brake offers a dynamic and agile driving experience with an electronic control suspension that optimally adjusts ride comfort in real-time and a driving mode special for limit driving, ‘Sport+(Sports Plus) mode’.
The design of the 2023 G70 & G70 Shooting Brake inherits Genesis’s unique design identity of ‘dynamic elegance’, while enhancing the driver-centered interior design.
Exterior design features a new Genesis emblem embossed with a guilloché pattern, reflecting the image of a luxury sedan.
Additionally, new wheel designs include 18-inch real steel gray wheels and 19-inch dark gray matte wheels, along with new exterior colors like batna gray and kawa blue, enhancing a sporty and luxurious image.
The interior space features functional designs that enhance usability and details that elevate luxury, increasing the driver’s immersion.
Genesis has enhanced luxury with a touch-sensitive climate control display, a frameless rearview mirror, a new emblem, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Functional design and details have also been added to multifunction switches, door & console garnish patterns, air vents, cup holders, and smart keys, realizing a delicate interior sensibility fit for a luxury sedan.
Interior color options have been expanded with additional two-tone options like obsidian black/ fog gray, obsidian black/vanilla beige, and forest blue/ vanilla beige.
The 2023 G70 & G70 Shooting Brake retains the existing excellent driving convenience technologies while adding new features to provide customers with a pleasant and comfortable driving experience.
Genesis has enhanced its marketability by making popular convenience features like front seat ventilation and rear seat heating standard.
Convenience features include high-performance antibacterial & combined filters, C-type USB charging ports, and the newly applied intelligent speed limit assist (ISLA) that displays speed limit information in the cluster and automatically adjusts the driving speed.
The starting prices for the 2023 G70 are 43.15 million won for the gasoline 2.5 Turbo, 48.05 million won for the gasoline 3.3 Turbo, and 45.11 million won for the shooting brake gasoline 2.5 Turbo. (※ Based on a 3.5% individual consumption tax)
Genesis will begin sales of the 2023 G70 · G70 Shooting Brake on the 19th (Friday) and will conduct various promotional activities such as advertising campaigns, exhibitions at Genesis Studio Hanam, and driving experiences at Taian Circuit.
Genesis plans to promote the 2023 G70 · G70 Shooting Brake with a TV advertisement showcasing the agile and stable driving feel expressed as ‘spinning a top’ and a digital film capturing the vehicle’s sporty driving sensations.
Additionally, in mid-June, there will be an open gallery at Genesis Studio Hanam featuring both the 2023 G70 · G70 Shooting Brake and photographer Kim Joo-won’s G70 photo artworks.
Furthermore, Genesis plans to offer a driving experience event at Taian Circuit for customers who contract the 2023 G70 · G70 Shooting Brake, providing an opportunity to experience the thrilling driving sensations unique to the G70.
