On the 15th, Renault Korea held a ceremony to commemorate the start of production of the New Renault Koleos, which is expected to be delivered to customers starting this fall.
The New Renault Koleos, a D SUV, is produced at the Busan plant, which boasts one of the highest production quality levels among Renault Group’s worldwide facilities. Additionally, Renault Korea plans to produce the New Renault Koleos in collaboration with over 200 domestic partners, contributing to the ongoing development of the Busan partnership ecosystem.
The New Renault Koleos offers the Renault essence of being a ‘car for everyday life (Voiture à vivre)’ to both drivers and passengers. With a class-leading wheelbase of 2,820mm, it provides spacious and comfortable rear seating, while 18% of the vehicle’s structure is made from ultra-high-strength ‘hot press forming (HPF)’ components, ensuring outstanding safety.
The ‘openR Panorama Screen,’ which expands the display to the front passenger seat for the first time in a domestic model, offers cinema OTT services, music streaming services, and various web services through Naver’s ‘Whale’ browser. Passengers can independently access these services via Bluetooth earphone connections. 5G data is provided free for five years, and hotspot settings will allow various electronic devices to connect to Wi-Fi in the vehicle (Note: Excessive data use may result in limitations).
The New Renault Koleos is equipped with the ‘Active Driver Assist,’ a Level 2 autonomous driving system, as standard across all trims, and provides real-time TMAP navigation and the NUGU auto voice recognition system as basic features.
Launching with three powertrains: hybrid, gasoline turbo 2WD, and gasoline turbo 4WD, the vehicle also introduces the top-tier ‘Esprit Alpine’ trim influenced by Renault Group’s authentic sports car brand, Alpine. The new version of the E-Tech hybrid system integrated into the New Renault Koleos boasts a system output of a class-leading 245 horsepower and a class-leading battery capacity of 1.64kWh.
Furthermore, the New Renault Koleos was globally unveiled at the ‘2024 Busan Mobility Show’ and is currently open for pre-orders, with vehicles on display at Renault Seongsu, Starfield Suwon, Suwon Business Center, Busan Dongnae Business Center, and Daejeon Business Center.
In summary, this marks a significant development in the domestic automotive market, integrating cutting-edge technology and safety features.
