Naver and SK Telecom are strengthening their subway services.
Naver has begun offering a real-time train location notification service in its metropolitan subway line app from the 2nd of this month. This real-time train location information, provided through an agreement with the Seoul City Future Advanced Transportation Department, includes detailed information on where the next train is and how far it is from the current station. A representative from Naver emphasized, “Delays may occur due to commuter crowds, which can cause discrepancies, but we will continue to work hard to improve services for our users.”
SK Telecom has added a subway crowd density feature to its A.Dot app. This function, developed in collaboration with the Seoul Transportation Corporation back in August 2021, serves to guide users to less crowded train cars during peak commute times. The subway crowd density feature was previously available in T Map Mobility’s T Map public transport service until it was transferred to SK Telecom’s A.Dot app following a recent T Map service integration overhaul. Subway crowd density notifications are provided for subway lines 1 to 9, Shinbundang Line, and the Airport Railroad.
