Lotte Auto Lease, a specialized financial company under Lotte Rental, has announced that it has been awarded the Minister of Environment’s award after being selected as an exemplary company in the ‘Korean-style Zero-Emission Vehicle Transition 100’ (K-EV100) by the Korea Automobile Environmental Association.

This award comes as Lotte Auto Lease demonstrated the best performance in transitioning to zero-emission vehicles in the commercial vehicle sector among domestic companies that declared their commitment to K-EV100 last year. The award ceremony took place at the opening event of the ‘EV Trend Korea 2024’ electric vehicle expo held at COEX in Seoul on the 6th, attended by CEO Kim Ji-hoon and other executives.

K-EV100, supervised by the Ministry of Environment, is a campaign in which private companies publicly declare their commitment to transition their owned and leased vehicles to zero-emission vehicles, such as electric and hydrogen vehicles, by 2030, and implement this transition in stages. Since joining K-EV100 in September 2021, Lotte Auto Lease has actively participated in promoting the adoption of eco-friendly vehicles and ESG management in South Korea.

Lotte Auto Lease provides dedicated electric vehicle products to promote the use of eco-friendly commercial vehicles. By utilizing the eco-friendly commercial vehicle products as an operational lease, customers can conveniently take care of cumbersome vehicle management tasks such as on-site maintenance, regular vehicle inspections, tire replacements, and consumable replacements. They also offer a charging subscription product called ‘Biz Pass,’ which helps reduce EV charging costs exclusively for eco-friendly commercial vehicle lease customers.

Additionally, in September, Lotte Auto Lease signed a business agreement with a domestic electric vehicle manufacturer to introduce small and medium-sized electric commercial vehicles to consumers through its domestic sales network, thereby contributing to the activation of the domestic cargo and passenger electric vehicle market.

CEO Kim Ji-hoon expressed, “We are very pleased to receive the K-EV100 award for excellence in transitioning to zero-emission vehicles, which recognizes Lotte Auto Lease’s efforts and capabilities in leading the trend of electric commercial vehicle transitions,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen our services to meet customer needs through authentic ESG management unique to Lotte Auto Lease while leading the domestic commercial vehicle lease market.”

Lotte Auto Lease is a subsidiary of Lotte Rental, the largest comprehensive rental company in South Korea, and specializes in automotive finance. It offers auto lease services to allow customers to choose various methods of purchasing vehicles according to their lifestyle and economic situation. The company focuses on resolving efficient vehicle management for commercial vehicles (cargo vehicles, passenger cars, and special vehicles) through Maintenance Autolease and leasing products that include customized equipment.
