The authentic off-road driving festival ‘Jeep Camp 2022’ will take place from October 24 for ten days in the Yangyang area of Gangwon-do.

This year’s ‘Jeep Camp 2022’ will be held at Songjeong Beach in Yangyang, Gangwon-do, from October 24 (Monday) to November 2 (Wednesday) in a total of four sessions. Participants can enjoy camping in the Jeep camping zone set up on the beach for three days and two nights, while experiencing various off-road driving courses and entertainment programs.

‘Jeep Camp’ is an off-road festival that allows you to experience the craftsmanship and values pursued by Jeep’s off-road vehicles, as well as its unique 4X4 performance and distinct Jeep spirit. Jeep Camp is a traditional off-road festival with a 68-year history, and is held annually under various names such as ‘Jeep Adventure’ and ‘Jeep Jamboree’ in the USA, Europe, Australia, and more.

In South Korea, the festival first started in 2004 in Northeast Asia and celebrates its 16th anniversary this year. Jeep’s marketing initiatives are based on fostering a culture that showcases its unique Jeep spirit, offering various experiential events. Among these, the Jeep Camp has grown into the largest festival where Jeep owners gather to enjoy driving, capturing even more interest from Jeep enthusiasts year after year. The application for ‘Jeep Camp 2022’, which began on the 6th, closed in just ten minutes after opening, with a fierce competition rate of 10:1, selecting a total of 240 teams.

The driving courses that Jeep enthusiasts are most looking forward to have become even more dynamic this year. Programs like the ‘Wave Park’ where participants can test Jeep’s excellent obstacle-clearing capabilities over various artificial structures, ‘Mountain Trail’ which allows them to enjoy the natural breezes while navigating around Mount Jeongjoksan, and ‘Beach Driving’ that lets them race along the shoreline against the sand, promise to deliver an exciting experience of Gangwon’s nature.

Jeep will also provide a camping zone for participants to enjoy the deepening autumn scenery of Gangwon, along with various activities for family bonding and memory-making.

Additionally, for the first time, there will be a pet playground called ‘Agility Zone’ open for the duration of the event.

Jeep has also paid attention to environmental protection and community coexistence. To aid the Yangyang residents and environment affected by the large forest fire last spring, the festival will launch the ‘Save the Forest Campaign’ that involves scattering seeds of wildflowers along the driving courses, and conduct a ‘Beach Plogging’ campaign to prevent pollution of Songjeong Beach and the Jeep camping zone. Furthermore, a ‘Farmers Market’ promoting local agricultural and specialty products will also be hosted to invigorate the regional economy.

Jake Aumann, President of Stellantis Korea, expressed his gratitude for the warm interest in ‘2022 Jeep Camp’ and promised to meet the customers who were unable to participate due to the first-come-first-served policy next year, stating, “We will strive to provide better programs for Jeep enthusiasts gathering from all over the country to share Jeep’s unique spirit and values.”
