‘BMW X2’

BMW Korea has officially launched the boldly evolved premium small Sports Activity Coupe, the New X2, starting with the gasoline model ‘New X2 xDrive20i’.

The BMW X2 is the first model to introduce the concept of a Sports Activity Coupe in the premium compact segment. Newly unveiled as a second-generation complete makeover after six years since 2018, the BMW New X2 clearly showcases its advanced characteristics with its elegant and striking coupe silhouette, state-of-the-art driving assistance systems, and innovative digital infotainment systems.

The BMW New X2 leaves a strong impression with its large body and dynamic lines that create an elegant body surface design. Compared to the previous generation, the body length has increased by 195mm, width by 5mm, height by 65mm, and the wheelbase has also grown by 20mm, resulting in more spacious seating and trunk space.

The front end of the body, forming an angle close to vertical with the ground, boldly expresses confidence and presence, while the hexagonal BMW kidney grille features the industry-first ‘BMW Iconic Glow’ lighting as standard for the premium compact segment. This sporty grill, enhanced in appeal, works in harmony with the sleek design of the LED headlights, showcasing an intense presence. The smoothly continuing roof line to the rear emphasizes the unique style of BMW SAC, with the rear spoiler at the end of the roof line amplifying its dynamic charm.

The interior of the New X2 has been expanded compared to the previous generation and creates a modern atmosphere with an emphasis on sporty sensations. It comes standard with a driver-focused BMW curved display, consisting of a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch control display, as well as a BMW head-up display and a floating armrest that integrates a newly designed gear selector and control panel, creating a futuristic vibe.

The newly introduced two-tone Vega sports seats in Atlas Grey and Smoke White highlight sporty appeal, while amenities such as a two-zone automatic air conditioning system, sports leather steering wheel, power tailgate, Harman Kardon sound system, and wireless charging features come standard.

The gasoline model, launched first, the BMW New X2 xDrive20i, is equipped with a BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder gasoline engine, delivering 204 horsepower and a peak torque of 30.6 kg·m, paired with a 7-speed Steptronic automatic transmission featuring a double-clutch system.

Additionally, the intelligent all-wheel-drive system BMW xDrive is applied to provide high traction during rough and inclement weather conditions while offering excellent agility and dynamic handling performance in corners. It accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds, with an official combined fuel economy of 10.8 km/l.

The New X2 utilizes BMW’s latest operating system, BMW Operating System (OS) 9. BMW OS 9 features a touch-centric intuitive user interface that enables easy and familiar vehicle function control, resembling that of a smartphone.

BMW OS 9 comes equipped with a TMAP-based Korean navigation system developed in collaboration with Tmap Mobility. Based on an online streaming map, it provides real-time updates of all map information, including current traffic conditions, guiding the optimal route.

Moreover, the newly released ‘BMW Digital Premium’ offers a wide range of digital experiences reflecting the lifestyles of domestic consumers. BMW Digital Premium includes various entertainment programs such as Air Console games and the BMW Video app, allowing downloads of various third-party apps from both domestic and international sources through the BMW App Store, including Melon, FLO, SBS Gorilla, and Spotify.

Advanced driver assistance systems and parking assistance systems provided in the BMW New X2 xDrive20i offer high safety and convenience for both everyday driving and long-distance travel.

Standard features include active cruise control with stop&go functionality, frontal collision warning, and alerts for approaching vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles, lane-keeping assistant, as well as rear collision warnings under the Driving Assistant Professional package, while Parking Assistant Plus, including parking assistant and surround view as well as reverse assistant, is also standard.

The BMW New X2 will initially be available as the X2 xDrive20i M Sport Package model, priced at 68,300,000 KRW (including VAT).

Meanwhile, following the launch of the New X2 xDrive20i, BMW Korea plans to introduce the first-ever pure electric model in the premium small SAC segment, the New iX2 eDrive20, along with the high-performance gasoline model, the New X2 M35i, in the second half of the year, expanding its powertrain lineup to cater to the preferences and lifestyles of customers.
