In September, despite a shortage of production days due to the Chuseok holiday, a total of 113,656 vehicles were sold in the domestic market, marking a 7.5% increase from the previous month’s 105,091 units. Except for Kia, which saw a slight decline, all other brands experienced a surge in sales compared to the previous month. Additionally, Hyundai regained the top position in domestic sales, largely boosted by the Ioniq 6.

Hyundai sold 47,264 units, a 16.2% increase from the previous month’s 39,607 units. The Porter saw sales of 8,503 units, reflecting a 9.1% rise from 7,792 units last month. The Grandeur recorded 4,643 units, a slight uptick of 0.8% from 4,606 units the previous month. The Sonata stood at 4,585 units (including 1,963 taxis), marking a 5.8% increase compared to last month’s 4,332 units (including 1,513 taxis). The Ioniq 6 kicked off its sales with 2,652 units sold.

Genesis sold 9,646 units, a slight increase of 0.3% from the previous month’s 9,617 units. The G80 recorded sales of 2,863 units, down 7% from 3,080 units last month. The GV70 totaled 2,348 units, reflecting a 17.2% increase from 2,004 units previously. The G90 saw a reduction of 8.5%, with 2,217 units sold compared to 2,422 units previously.

Kia sold 40,049 units, a 3.4% decrease from 41,404 units last month. The Sorento saw sales of 5,335 units, down 6% from 5,674 last month. The Sportage recorded 4,441 units, which is an increase of 14.7% compared to 3,873 last month. The K8 sold 3,990 units, reflecting a 6.3% drop from 4,257 last month.

SSangyong saw sales of 7,675 units, a 10.9% increase from the 6,923 units sold last month. The Torres gained traction with 4,685 units sold, marking a substantial 28.8% increase from 3,637 units last month. However, the Rexton Sports saw a decrease with 1,848 units sold, down 12.9% from 2,121 units previously. The Tivoli recorded 614 units, a slight drop of 1.6% from 624 units last month.

Renault Korea sold 5,050 units, a 27.8% increase from the previous month’s 3,950 units. The QM6 accounted for 2,909 units, reflecting a 32.5% rise from 2,196 units last month. The XM3 saw sales of 1,715 units, increasing by 31.6% compared to 1,303 units previously. However, the SM6 recorded 316 units, down 27% from 433 units last month.

Chevrolet recorded sales of 4,012 units, an 11.8% rise from 3,590 units last month. The Trailblazer showed impressive results, with 1,379 units sold—an increase of 43.9% from 958 units previously. The Spark totaled 1,031 units, down 13.9% from last month’s 1,198 units. The Bolt EUV experienced significant growth, with 521 units sold, up a staggering 161.8% from 199 units last month.
