BMW Korea will begin the general ticket sales for the ‘BMW Ladies Championship 2023’, the only LPGA tournament in Korea, which will be held at the Seowon Hills Course in Paju from October 19 to 22. This announcement comes about a month before the event, signaling the start of serious preparations for the competition.

The general ticket sales for the BMW Ladies Championship, which is expected to draw the largest number of galleries in history, will start on October 1. This year, the tournament will be held in the metropolitan area for the first time since it became part of the LPGA Tour, improving accessibility and attracting more golf fans, including the MZ generation, to the venue.

BMW Korea is also preparing a variety of entertainment options for visitors. Depending on the type of admission ticket, luxurious services such as catering, VIP parking, and BMW vehicle shuttles will be provided to enhance visitor convenience. Notably, an Oktoberfest zone, which all gallery participants can enjoy, will offer abundant food and beverage services, including beer and sausages, adding a festive atmosphere to the venue and providing meaningful memories for the attendees.

Additionally, the legendary female golfer Shin Ji-ae, who holds a record of 64 wins—the most in the history of Korean golf—has been confirmed as a special invited player. Along with her, notable LPGA Tour stars such as Park Sung-hyun (Korea), Yoo So-yeon (Korea), and Lee Jeong-eun6 (Korea), who achieved Rookie of the Year, Money Leader, and Player of the Year awards in their debut year on the LPGA Tour, have also announced their participation.

Shin Ji-ae, a legendary player holding the record for the highest number of wins in a single KLPGA Tour season with 9 wins in 2007 and the first-ever player to achieve 3 major wins in one season on the JLPGA Tour in 2018, has also won 11 times on the LPGA Tour since her debut in 2009, including 2 major victories. She placed as a runner-up at the 78th US Women’s Open this year, maintaining her place among the world’s elite players.

Confirming her participation in the BMW Ladies Championship, Shin Ji-ae expressed, “I am already excited to participate in an LPGA Tour event being held in my home country after a long time.” She added, “I will focus on training from now on to deliver the best performance for the fans who come to see me.”

This year, as in last year, four amateur players recommended by the Korea Golf Association (KGA) and Gyeonggi Province will also be granted entry, further promoting the development of young golf talents.

A representative from BMW Korea stated, “General ticket sales for this tournament, which is expected to attract the largest number of galleries ever, will begin. We will prepare various experience events and activities so that spectators can enjoy their visit to the venue as much as possible.”
