The Volkswagen ID.4, Korea’s first all-electric SUV, topped the electric vehicle sales chart in September, claiming the number one spot among imported electric cars (according to data by the Korea Import Automobile Association). This achievement comes just over two weeks after its official domestic launch on September 15.

According to the Korea Import Automobile Association, a total of 667 ID.4 units were sold in September, making it the best-selling imported electric vehicle. In addition, it ranked third in overall imported vehicle sales, following the BMW 520 (926 units) and the Mercedes-Benz E 250 (867 units).

Launched on the 15th, the ID.4 is a key model aimed at expanding Volkswagen Korea’s ‘accessible premium’ strategy into the electric vehicle market. It achieved the number one position among imported electric vehicles in its first month, thanks to its proven product viability, robust driving performance, and competitive pricing that includes government subsidy benefits.

The ID.4 incorporates Volkswagen’s advanced e-technology and offers a combined driving range of 405 km on a single charge. It can be charged up to 80% in about 36 minutes using fast charging.

Equipped with the state-of-the-art driver assistance system ‘IQ. Drive’ featuring ‘Emergency Assist’—a first in the country—as well as the innovative interactive lighting system ‘IQ. Light’, a panoramic glass sunroof, and a three-zone climate control automatic air conditioning system, the ID.4 comes loaded with impressive safety and convenience features. Coupled with Volkswagen’s dynamic driving performance and the high practicality offered by electric SUVs, it has captured the interest of many domestic customers.
