On the 7th, Ssangyong Motor announced that the New Rexton Sports is being recognized for its impressive product quality and marketability in both domestic and international markets, having been selected as an outstanding model in the UK.
The New Rexton Sports (export name Musso) has been named the ‘Best Pickup’ in the 2023 Best Car category by Carbuyer, a UK automotive magazine.
Carbuyer provides accurate information to buyers through detailed evaluations and test drives of various vehicles, stating that the reason for selecting the New Rexton Sports is its “powerful four-wheel drive powertrain, cargo carrying capacity, and spacious, practical space.”
Introduced in January, the New Rexton Sports & Kan has also received positive reviews in the domestic market and won two awards in February, including the ‘2022 Car of the Year’ in the utility category from the Korean Automobile Journalists Association and ‘Pickup of the Year’ from the Korean Automotive Specialists Association, thus acknowledging the outstanding product quality of K-Pickups.
Additionally, prior to this, the New Rexton Sports was selected as the ‘Best Payload Pickup’ during the ‘2022 Car of the Year Awards’ held in January by What Car, a prestigious UK automotive magazine.
Exports of the New Rexton Sports have also seen a surge, crossing 4,000 units in May, marking the highest monthly performance in six years, with a 49.3% increase compared to the previous year as of September cumulative figures.
Ssangyong Motor stated, “The New Rexton Sports is gaining recognition for its competitiveness with consecutive awards in both domestic and international markets,” and added, “As the Torres began full-scale shipments in September, we will enhance brand awareness and strengthen our approach in the global market to increase sales volumes.”
