Hyundai Motor Group supports the G20 Bali Summit with official vehicles.

On the 25th (Tuesday), Hyundai Motor Group held an official vehicle handover ceremony for the ‘G20 Bali Summit’ at the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event was attended by Pratikno, the Indonesian Minister of State Secretariat, Ambassador Park Tae-sung, and Lee Yong-taek, Head of Hyundai Motor’s Asia-Pacific Headquarters, where they delivered the Genesis G80 electrified models and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 vehicles that will be used at the summit.

The ‘G20 Bali Summit’ is the 17th G20 summit, scheduled to be held in Bali, Indonesia on November 15-16, with the theme ‘Recover Together, Recover Stronger.’

The G20 is an expanded global economic cooperation forum that was officially launched in December 1999, including South Korea and other countries as an extension of the G7, the group of the world’s seven advanced economies. In 2009, it was elevated to the highest-level forum addressing global economic issues by agreeing to hold regular G20 summits.

The vehicles supported by Hyundai Motor Group include 87 Genesis G80 electrified models, 44 long-wheelbase G80 electrified models, and 262 Hyundai Ioniq 5, totaling 393 vehicles.

With the selection of the G80 electrified model as the official VIP vehicle for the G20 Bali Summit, Hyundai Motor Group has specially manufactured long-wheelbase versions to support the event.

Previously, in October last year, the Indonesian government selected the Genesis G80 electrified model as the official VIP vehicle for the G20 Bali Summit during an event titled ‘Indonesia’s Future EV Ecosystem’ held at the Jakarta International Expo Convention Center.

The G80 electrified model is Genesis’s first large electrified sedan. It has introduced excellent power performance and innovative electric vehicle technologies, making a significant impact in the electric vehicle market due to its high product value combined with luxurious specifications.

The Ioniq 5 is the first dedicated electric vehicle developed based on Hyundai Motor Group’s electric vehicle-exclusive platform, E-GMP. It features futuristic design, outstanding driving range, safety, and advanced specifications, offering superior product value.

By providing electric vehicles for the G20 Bali Summit, Hyundai Motor Group aims to widely promote its brand vision for a sustainable future. Additionally, it plans comprehensive support before the summit, including driver training, setting up technical support booths, and operating joint maintenance response teams.

A Hyundai Motor Group official stated, “It is an honor to provide electric vehicles as official transport at a meeting discussing a sustainable future and recovery after COVID-19,” adding, “We will strive to share Hyundai Motor Group’s vision and determination with the world beyond merely providing vehicles for the event.”
