Hyundai Motor and Kia are participating in the ‘2022 Daegu International Future Mobility Expo’ held at EXCO, Daegu Metropolitan City, from the 27th (Thursday) to the 29th (Saturday), showcasing their eco-friendly vehicle lineup.

Since its inception in 2017, the ‘Daegu International Future Mobility Expo’ has become the largest domestic fair focusing on future mobility, encompassing automobiles and related components.

This year, 171 companies from Korea and abroad are participating, with Hyundai setting up an exhibition space of 315㎡ (approximately 95 pyeong) and Kia occupying 270㎡ (approximately 82 pyeong), providing a variety of sights and experiences for visitors.

Hyundai showcases the ‘Ioniq 6’, the second model of its dedicated electric vehicle brand Ioniq, along with a VR (Virtual Reality) experience booth where customers can experience a sustainable mobility lifestyle firsthand.

Visitors can take an MBTI personality type test at the kiosk located at the entrance of Hyundai’s exhibition hall and receive recommendations for experience topics based on their results among six lifestyle themes, allowing them to freely enjoy the content.

Hyundai is also displaying the medium low-floor electric bus ‘Elec City Town’ and offering a kiosk to experience the newly launched commercial vehicle-specific connected service ‘Blue Link Fleet 2.0’, which enhances vehicle management, operation safety analysis, and availability analysis.

Additionally, a model of Hyundai Motor Group’s ultra-fast electric vehicle charging system, E-pit, and VR devices to experience future mobility technologies such as UAM (Urban Air Mobility) are provided.

The E-pit system allows for charging up to 80% within 18 minutes (from 10% to 80%) and features a Plug & Charge function that automatically verifies and processes payment immediately upon connection of the charging cable for an easier charging experience.

The UAM is a future representative mobility that utilizes the skies as a new pathway for transportation, alleviating road congestion and providing users with a more valuable time.

Kia presents the ‘The Kia EV6 GT’, the fastest vehicle in Korean automotive history, and their first Purpose Built Vehicle (PBV) ‘Niro Plus’, each displayed in thematic spaces tailored to their characteristics.

Launched at the end of last month, the ‘EV6 GT’ is the high-performance version of the EV6 based on Hyundai Motor Group’s dedicated electric vehicle platform, E-GMP, combining a high-output battery with enhanced motors for unprecedented power performance.

As for the ‘Niro Plus’ released in May, it is based on the first-generation Niro EV, raised by 80mm in height and optimized for spacious interior space.

Kia also showcases major components such as Hyundai Motor Group’s dedicated electric vehicle platform, E-GMP, the PE (Power Electric) system, e-LSD (Electronic Limited Slip Differential), and ECS (Electronic Control Suspension).

Moreover, during the expo period, a test drive program is operated twice a day, offering customers an opportunity to experience driving electric vehicles on the roads around EXCO.

Visitors can register on-site to test drive the ‘EV6 GT-Line’ with dedicated staff accompanying them to guide the course and ensure driving safety.

Representatives from Hyundai and Kia stated, “As the future mobility industry is rapidly growing, we will continuously create opportunities to communicate our future mobility technology and vision to more customers.”
