Hyundai Motor has maintained its position as a top global brand for eight consecutive years.

According to global brand consulting firm Interbrand, Hyundai Motor achieved a brand value of $17.3 billion, ranking 35th in the ‘2022 Global 100 Brands’ list.

Since first being listed in the Global 100 Brands in 2005, Hyundai has made remarkable progress, rising 49 places and increasing its brand value by $13.8 billion. (In 2005, the brand ranked 84th with a value of $3.5 billion)

This year’s brand value grew by approximately 14% compared to the previous year, marking Hyundai’s eighth consecutive entry into the top 30 for overall brand ranking since 2015. (In 2021, the brand ranked 35th with a value of $15.2 billion)

An Interbrand official noted, “Hyundai Motor is establishing an eco-friendly mobility ecosystem while realizing its electrification vision and striving to become a brand that permeates consumers’ lifestyles beyond just being an automobile manufacturer.”

Under the brand vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, Hyundai is leading the charge to provide innovative mobility experiences and create a sustainable future.

The Ioniq 5, which is the first model to utilize Hyundai Motor Group’s dedicated electric vehicle platform ‘E-GMP’, has received global acclaim, winning awards such as ‘2022 Car of the Year’ in Germany and the UK, and most recently ‘World Car of the Year’ at the World Car Awards in April.

The Ioniq 6, unveiled in July of this year, has drawn explosive interest with its smooth, aerodynamic exterior design that minimizes wind resistance, spacious user-centered interior, and an impressive driving range of 524 km on a single charge based on the industry certification (for 18-inch wheels, long-range 2WD).

Hyundai is actively exploring the future mobility space by unveiling its robotics vision at ‘CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2022’, integrating robotics with the metaverse to expand travel experiences into the virtual world and ultimately achieve freedom of movement.

Hyundai’s focus on ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) management has also played a significant role in enhancing brand credibility, contributing to their high scores in this evaluation. The company was also recognized internationally in 2021 by being incorporated into the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.

A Hyundai Motor representative stated, “In the face of a paradigm shift in mobility, we will continue to invest boldly in future new businesses and proactively respond to lead the future mobility market and provide customers with a better tomorrow.”
