Hyundai Motor has launched the ‘All-New Grandeur’.

The Grandeur has maintained its reputation as a premium sedan in South Korea since its launch in 1986, leading the domestic automotive market.

The newly released Grandeur is Hyundai Motor’s flagship sedan, created with bold presence and innovative technologies. It inherits the legacy of the past while embodying the future value of mobility as it transitions into a new era, completing its unique product competitiveness.

During the online launch event, Hyundai Motor President Chung Jae-hoon confidently introduced it, stating, “The new Grandeur, developed with great care over the past few years, is an innovative model that surpasses market expectations with advanced technologies and details based on the brand heritage built over the last 36 years. It will provide a completely different experience than any Grandeur before!”

The Grandeur is offered with a lineup of four engines: 2.5-liter GDI gasoline, 3.5-liter GDI gasoline, 3.5-liter LPG, and 1.6-liter gasoline turbo hybrid, with prices starting at 37.16 million won for gasoline, 43.76 million won for hybrid, and 38.63 million won for LPG (Note: prices based on a 3.5% individual consumption tax; the 1.6-liter gasoline turbo hybrid model pricing will be released after the eco-friendly vehicle certification is completed).

In a bid to resolve the inconvenience of the past selection process, where the trim configurations varied by powertrain models, Hyundai has introduced a ‘horizontal trim structure’ that aligns the basic specifications of trims for the Grandeur. Customers can now prioritize the trim that suits their desired specifications and then select the preferred powertrain, significantly enhancing the ease of purchase.

The Grandeur has been reborn with a powerful image that breaks down the barriers between generations, tastes, technology, and emotion.

The Grandeur features a length of 5,035mm, which is 45mm longer than the previous model, increasing both wheelbase and rear overhang by 10mm and 50mm respectively; it boasts beautiful proportions and ample space.

The front section emphasizes a unique luxury that underlines the design identity of a flagship large sedan and an imposing presence.

The futuristic design features ‘seamlessly connected horizontal LED lamps’, which integrate the functions of DRL, positioning lamp, and turn signal in a continuous structure; it produces a powerful impression in harmony with the luxurious and robust parametric pattern radiator grill.

The side profile offers perfect proportionality with an exceptionally long wheelbase of 2,895mm and a long hood. The frame-less doors and flush door handles form a horizontal one-line side body, exuding the dignity of an elegant large sedan.

The rear completes the futuristic image of the front with a design that emphasizes volume through its slim rear combination lamps.

Hyundai has also created a Caligraphy trim with differentiated design and specifications to cater to customers who desire luxury.

The Caligraphy trim features a distinctive pattern applied to the parametric pattern radiator grill, enhancing its wide appearance, along with a special alloy wheel and DLO molding to add a premium feel. The rear bumper garnish is embellished with a dark chrome finish.

The Grandeur showcases five designs of new wheels, ranging from 18-inch to 20-inch. Additionally, the ’20-inch High Gloss Spattering Wheel’ inspired by the wheel design of the first-generation Grandeur is offered as a customization option, further emphasizing the Grandeur’s unique heritage.

Hyundai has improved the usability of the Grandeur’s interior with an ergonomic slim design and created a high-class emotional space with spaciousness.

The interior features a comprehensive integrated display of a 12.3-inch large screen cluster and navigation, combined with a full-touch 10.25-inch large climate control unit positioned centrally, showcasing a high-tech image.

The column-type electronic gear lever relocated to the steering wheel aligns the direction of gear operation with the drive direction, enabling intuitive control, while the spacious console increases the usability of the interior space.

The one-spoke style steering wheel evokes nostalgia for the first-generation Grandeur and is equipped with four LED lights integrated with the vehicle’s operation and voice recognition to enhance convenience and provide a futuristic image.

Applied to the crash pad garnish, the ‘Interactive Ambient Mood Lamp’ emits various colors according to driving modes, voice recognition, welcome and goodbye sequences, creating a feeling of continuous connection between the passengers and the car, providing a more relaxed driving experience.

Hyundai has added new colors and materials that reinterpret Korean images with eco-friendly technology and luxurious emotions on the heritage of the Grandeur.

The exterior colors have been developed as representative colors, including organic bronze matte inspired by traditional craftsman Bangjia-yugi and bamboo charcoal green pearl, harmonizing with the titanium look chrome applied to the radiator grill, striking a delicate balance between Grandeur’s heritage and modern luxury.

The interior features Napa quilting with Korean patterns combined with real wood and aluminum trim, completing a sleek style.

Antimicrobial processed artificial leather, naturally dyed Napa leather, and eco-friendly pigment colors have been applied throughout the interior and exterior of the Grandeur, ensuring sustainability.

The newly introduced Caligraphy Black Ink applies an all-black concept to major interior and exterior points, including the emblem, allowing you to feel a neat beauty akin to a traditional ink painting.

The Grandeur is the first to adopt the CCNC (connected car Navigation Cockpit) infotainment system, extensively expanding the scope of wireless (OTA, Over-the-Air) software updates, providing an entirely new mobility experience as a modern car.

In collaboration with CarPay, the ‘e hi-pass’ system allows for road toll payments without a physical high-pass card, the first in the world. Additionally, the ‘Quick Control’ feature allows users to access frequently used menus by swiping down from the top of the screen, similar to using a smartphone.

Hyundai has significantly expanded the coverage of wireless software updates for the Grandeur, extending it beyond just core components to include major convenience features.

As a result, customers no longer need to visit service centers directly, enabling the addition or upgrade of various features at convenient times and locations, thereby always keeping the vehicle fresh and maximizing resale value.

The Grandeur is also equipped with built-in cam 2, digital key 2, and an indoor fingerprint recognition system, showcasing a diversity of cutting-edge technologies that surpass market expectations.

The built-in cam 2, which is featured for the first time in Grandeur, is equipped with a high-definition QHD resolution camera, enhancing its functionality with features like voice recording, support for large storage external micro SD memory cards, easy video confirmation via the BlueLink app, and the ability to check videos through built-in Wi-Fi.

Digital Key 2 allows drivers to unlock and start the vehicle conveniently without the smart key by merely approaching the vehicle while carrying their smartphone; personalized settings linked to the driver profile are also supported.

The fingerprint authentication system allows users to enter and start the car just by authenticating previously registered fingerprints, ensuring security and enabling safe use of electronic payments through CarPay. Like Digital Key 2, this feature also supports driver profile linking.

The Grandeur has not overlooked efforts for an advanced sound experience.

The ‘Sound True’ technology applied with the BOSE premium sound system can convert low-quality media sources into high-quality output. Along with this, BOSE’s latest surround technology ‘Centerpoint 360’ provides a lively sound experience through an evolved sound tuning algorithm called PSR (Perceptual Sound Rendering), offering a more immersive listening experience.

The enhanced quietness and comfort reflect the unique presence of the Grandeur.

The Grandeur has incorporated various innovations aimed at passenger comfort, including road noise reduction technology like ANC-R (Active Noise Control-Road), laminated soundproof glass, triple sealing structure of doors, a detachable carpet, sound-absorbing tires, preview electronic control suspension, driver’s Ergo motion seat, relaxation comfort seat, rear seat reclining & ventilated seats, powered rear door curtains, and E-motion drive.

The ANC-R technology generates real-time opposite phase sound waves to cancel out road noise, measured during the drive, while sound-absorbing tires and detachable carpets applied across all models effectively reduce transmission noise and resonance sounds during driving.

The triple sealing structure that blocks wind noise around the frame-less doors, laminated sound-proof glass attached to all seats including opera glass, and a thickness increase for the fixed glass on the A-pillar to 6mm reflect the quietness suitable for a premium sedan.

Additionally, a preview electronic control suspension has been equipped, which senses the road conditions ahead using the front camera and navigation to offer optimal ride comfort through suitable suspension control.

Additionally, the driver’s relaxation comfort seat offers a stretch-like effect that relieves fatigue from a hectic day, and the second-row reclining feature, which can be adjusted up to 8 degrees with a one-touch switch, and powered rear door curtains have been applied for the first time in its class, providing a spacious and comfortable ride.

In hybrid models, ‘E-motion drive’, an advanced hybrid system that enhances performance using the drive motor, has been implemented.

The E-motion drive is divided into ‘E-comfort drive’, providing smooth rides over uneven surfaces like speed bumps, reducing vibrations, and ‘E-dynamic drive’, achieving dynamic and stable handling during quick acceleration and cornering.

The Grandeur offers a dynamic and relaxed driving experience with high-performance engine options, including the 2.5-liter GDI gasoline, 3.5-liter GDI gasoline, 1.6-liter gasoline turbo hybrid, and 3.5-liter LPG.

The 2.5-liter GDI gasoline model achieves a maximum output of 198 horsepower and a maximum torque of 25.3kgf·m with a combined fuel efficiency of 11.7 km/l. (Note: based on 18-inch tires)

The 3.5-liter GDI gasoline model delivers a solid performance with 300 horsepower and 36.6kgf·m of torque while achieving a combined fuel efficiency of 10.4 km/l, while the 3.5-liter LPG model boasts a maximum output of 240 horsepower and 32.0kgf·m of maximum torque. (Note: based on 18-inch tires)

The gasoline engines in the Grandeur utilize integrated flow control valve technology that optimally injects fuel according to speed and RPM through either MPI (multiport fuel injection) or GDI (gasoline direct injection) methods while controlling optimal coolant temperature according to driving conditions.

The 1.6-liter gasoline turbo hybrid model produces a maximum output of 180 horsepower and a maximum torque of 27.0kgf·m, with a fuel efficiency of 18.0 km/l.

The 3.5-liter GDI gasoline, 1.6-liter gasoline turbo hybrid, and 3.5-liter LPG models all feature newly developed engines that improve both fuel efficiency and power performance. The hybrid model has improved output, torque, and fuel efficiency by 13.2%, 28.6%, and 18.4%, respectively, compared to the previous models. (Note: based on 18-inch tires)

The Grandeur comes equipped with a host of cutting-edge safety and convenience features appropriate for a flagship sedan.

Its climate control system incorporates a photocatalytic module that generates sterilizing substances through visible light and photocatalytic reactions, eliminating harmful gases and odors. Features such as UV-C sterilization in the front console for removing germs from masks, keys, and gloves, along with antimicrobial materials applied to key areas like seats and door trims, enhance hygiene for passengers.

In the case of the Grandeur hybrid model, a switch has been added to the trunk open button to protect against 12V battery discharge, allowing temporary normal functioning of the vehicle’s electrical system without an emergency key.

If a 12V battery discharge risk is detected, electrical functions will be suspended, but by pressing the trunk open button and opening the door with the smart key within about 30 seconds, the driver can start the engine.

Modern SmartSense features have been integrated to provide users with safe and comfortable driving experiences, including Front Collision Avoidance Assist 2, Safe Exit Assist, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Highway Driving Assist 2, Front/Side/Rear Parking Distance Warning, Rear Parking Collision Avoidance Assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

The Front/Side/Rear Parking Distance Warning utilizes 3rd generation ultrasonic sensors, expanding the warning area to include side areas and subdividing the warning display stages from three to ten, significantly enhancing obstacle detection accuracy.

Additionally, the system features a 10-airbag system with the first-ever front seat center side airbag in its class, while enhancing passenger protection in collisions by increasing the hot stamping application area and the ratio of high-strength steel used in the vehicle body.

Moreover, the ‘Remote Diagnostic Service’, allowing for early detection of faults and providing prompt and accurate maintenance service based on collected data, has been introduced in the Grandeur, the first in Hyundai.

If there is a vehicle fault requiring technical assistance, customers can apply for the ‘Remote Diagnostic Service’ through the customer center or MyHyundai app to receive consultation services based on the collected data.

The Grandeur will officially begin sales on the 15th (Tuesday), expanding opportunities for real vehicle experiences throughout major regional exhibition spaces such as nationwide branches and dealerships.

Hyundai will prioritize delivering 2.5-liter GDI gasoline, 3.5-liter GDI gasoline, and 3.5-liter LPG models first, while the 1.6-liter gasoline turbo hybrid model will be sequentially delivered to waiting customers once the eco-friendly vehicle certification is completed.

Hyundai’s domestic business division head, Yoo Won-ha, expressed, “I sincerely thank all the customers who have believed in and waited for the Grandeur’s unique brand,” and added, “We will thoroughly prepare all processes from Grandeur’s production to vehicles’ delivery to meet the great expectations of the market.”
