SoCar is now embarking on the establishment of a ‘Streaming Mobility’ ecosystem to provide uninterrupted travel experiences.

SoCar has officially launched the ‘SoCar-KTX Package Booking Service’ in partnership with Korail, enabling customers to purchase KTX tickets for all routes directly through the SoCar app. This service allows users to escape the inconvenience of reserving KTX tickets and car-sharing vehicles from separate apps, as they can now buy KTX tickets and reserve the nearest SoCar zone’s sharing vehicle all in one place.

With the SoCar package booking service in collaboration with Korail, customers can enjoy KTX and car-sharing services at up to a 60% discount. They can choose from over 70 types of vehicles ranging from compact cars to large SUVs and electric cars at 272 SoCar zones near all 67 KTX stations across the country. KTX tickets can be booked for all train services, including standard and child seats. By integrating KTX and car-sharing bookings, it eliminates the hassle of reserving different transport means for each stop along the journey.

Customers who wish to use the service can click on the KTX package booking option in the SoCar app, search for their desired KTX train, and sequentially select the car-sharing service they wish to use at the departure or destination point.

The package booking product provides up to 60% in discounts. Additionally, when paying with a SoCar card, credits usable as cash in the app can accumulate up to 5%. One-way service allows customers to return the vehicle to a location of their choice, and there is also a hailing service available to pick up and drop off vehicles at desired locations.

To celebrate the launch of the SoCar-KTX package booking service, an event will be held from January 4th to 18th, offering a 100% credit giveaway to customers who complete reservations during this period.

Through this event, customers will receive 100% of the KTX usage fee (excluding package discounts) as credit, up to a maximum of 30,000 points. The received credits will be usable as cash within a month from the grant date in the SoCar app.

Park Yoo-seok, head of the SoCar Business Development Unit, stated, “SoCar is preparing to link various types of mobility options within the SoCar app to provide all customers with a seamless travel experience at reasonable prices,” adding, “We hope you will look forward to the Streaming Mobility ecosystem that SoCar will unveil, starting with this KTX and car-sharing bundled product.”

In the meantime, to continue building the Streaming Mobility ecosystem, SoCar plans to consistently introduce bundled products combining car-sharing with hotels, amusement parks, performances, and other activities to provide various additional experiences for customers.
