The H2 MEET organizing committee held a signing ceremony on the 30th, at the Korea Automobile Hall in Seocho-gu, Seoul, with the Hydrogen Convergence Alliance, Hydrogen Energy Network (Hynet), and the Korea Energy Agency. This agreement aims to strengthen mutual cooperation for expanding the hydrogen industry and ensuring the successful hosting of H2 MEET.

H2 MEET is a specialized exhibition for the hydrogen industry targeting domestic and international companies and institutions in areas such as hydrogen production, storage and transportation, and utilization. This year marks the fourth iteration of the event.

The 2023 H2 MEET will be held from September 13 (Wednesday) to September 15 (Friday) at KINTEX Exhibition Center Halls 1 to 3 in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, covering approximately 25,000 square meters.

Notably, the previous H2 MEET saw participation from 241 companies across 16 countries, with visitor numbers reaching around 30,000 over four days, cementing its status as the world’s largest hydrogen industry exhibition.

The signing ceremony was attended by key figures including Kang Nam-hoon, President of the Korea Automobile Industry Association, Moon Jae-do, President of the Hydrogen Convergence Alliance, Do Kyung-hwan, President of the Hydrogen Energy Network, and Lee Sang-hoon, Chairman of the Korea Energy Agency, along with their respective executives and staff.

Through this agreement, the associations, H2K, Hynet, and the Agency have committed to leveraging their respective resources and accumulated know-how to collaboratively ensure the successful execution of H2 MEET 2023. Additionally, the Korea Energy Agency will be joining the organizing committee this year, promising a more substantial and professional event.

Following the signing ceremony, the four institutions formed the H2 MEET Organizing Committee to promote and manage the exhibition efficiently. They reviewed the event’s plan and discussed role sharing and key policy issues during their working meetings.

This year, it has been agreed to hold the GHIAA (Global Hydrogen Industry Alliance) General Assembly during the H2 MEET event period, fostering active business exchanges among global hydrogen industry experts and corporate stakeholders.

Moreover, in response to H2 MEET’s heightened global standing, the organizing committee has decided to elevate the previously existing side event, the ‘H2 Innovation Awards’, to the ‘H2 Global Awards’. This change will transform it into a prestigious award ceremony for advanced technologies in the hydrogen industry.

Kang Nam-hoon, the organizing committee chairman, emphasized, “This agreement aims to bring together four specialized institutions to promote the development of the domestic and international hydrogen industry, lead technological innovation in the sector, and ensure the successful hosting of H2 MEET 2023. This year’s exhibition will provide a fantastic opportunity to observe global trends across the entire hydrogen industry cycle, from production to storage, transportation, and utilization.”
