Peugeot has unveiled the partial modification of the ‘New Peugeot 508’, set for global release in June 2023.

The ‘508’ has been serving as Peugeot’s flagship sedan in a five-door fastback style, showcasing sleek design, luxurious interiors, dynamic performance, and an array of advanced safety and convenience features. Following the complete model’s debut in 2019, this partial modification presents the model in three lineups: sedan, SW (Station Wagon), and Sports Engineered. The Sports Engineered trim incorporates the expertise of Peugeot’s high-performance division, ‘Peugeot Sport’.

The newly revealed ‘New 508’ caters to consumers seeking a dynamic design while offering a high-level driving experience through exceptional technology and connectivity. The ‘New 508 SW’ adds practicality to this dynamic design, targeting those looking for a unique family car.

Peugeot aims to complete a sedan boasting a premium silhouette with the ‘New 508’. Its front design exudes a modern impression thanks to the new Peugeot emblem featuring a lion’s head at the center of the grille, perfectly integrated with the bumper. The newly designed LED matrix headlights, which resemble three lion claws, and sequentially lighting rear LED lamps reflect Peugeot’s strong brand identity, showcasing assertive charm.

The interior features high-quality materials and a modern design, and the ergonomically designed driver’s gearbox reflects Peugeot’s determination to target the upmarket segment.

The driver’s seat applies Peugeot’s unique ‘i-Cockpit’, giving a feeling akin to sitting in an airplane cockpit. The compactly designed steering wheel facilitates agile and accurate driving, while the instrument panel boasts a 12-inch digital display.

The ‘New 508’ offers enhanced advanced safety and convenience features. Peugeot’s new advanced infotainment system, Peugeot i-Connect Advanced, comes equipped with a 10-inch HD central screen, natural language voice recognition, wireless connectivity, connected navigation, and OTA updates. It also provides safe driving through features like adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, lane departure warning systems, night vision, HD rear cameras, and three suspension modes (Normal, Comfort, Sport).

The powertrains for the ‘New 508’ and ‘New 508 SW’ consist of two plug-in hybrids with outputs of 180 horsepower and 225 horsepower, respectively, along with gasoline and diesel engines generating 130 horsepower, all coupled with an 8-speed EAT transmission. The ‘Sports Engineered’ variant offers a powertrain with 360 horsepower and an all-wheel-drive system.

Matthias Hossain, Peugeot’s design director, noted, “The striking design of the New 508 not only showcases technological excellence but also intensifies Peugeot’s identity that resembles a lion,” adding, “The sharply clawed headlights naturally blend with the bumper, creating a stunning front look for the car.”
