“We will overcome this challenging year through excellent products and dealer support,” said the President of Ford Korea, David Jeffrey, at the Ranger launch event.

Ford Korea held the launch event for the new Ranger on the 2nd at Daeseong Jejeon in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The new Ranger has been updated for the first time in two years with the Ranger Raptor and Ranger Wildtrak models.

The new Ranger adopts C-clamp headlights, pursuing a robust impression unique to pickup trucks, while advanced driving assistance systems and an electronic parking brake significantly enhance driver convenience.

The price has also seen a substantial increase. The new Ranger Raptor and Ranger Wildtrak are priced at 79.9 million KRW and 63.9 million KRW, respectively, an increase of 16 million KRW and 14 million KRW compared to their predecessors, the Ranger Raptor (63.9 million KRW) and Ranger Wildtrak (49.9 million KRW).

David expressed confidence in the new Ranger, stating, “With the introduction of a 360-degree surround view system and various convenience features, the price increase was unavoidable.”

Ford’s Global Program Manager, Dan Chichopoco, expressed confidence in the new Ranger, stating, “The new Ranger features an electronic parking brake and advanced automatic transmission technology that is not typically seen in pickup trucks, making us confident in its driving performance.”

However, despite the excellent product, Ford faces tough times due to the ongoing global economic downturn that began in the U.S. and China. Economists predict a decline in car sales due to the global economic situation.

David admitted, “It would be a lie to say I have no concerns about the economic downturn,” showing his worries about the situation. He continued, “But I view the situation optimistically. It’s a tough time, but we will overcome it with Ford’s excellent products and our dealer support.”
