KG Mobility held a brand launch ceremony and revealed its vision for the future as a mobility company at the ‘2023 Seoul Mobility Show’ press day, showcasing the mid-sized electric SUV Torres EVX along with design concept models O100, F100, and KR10.

On the 30th, at the Goyang KINTEX venue in South Korea, KG Mobility officially announced its new name, ‘KG Mobility,’ as part of the press day event for the Seoul Mobility Show. The company aims to start as a mobility enterprise in line with the rapidly changing automotive market paradigm.

At its first Seoul Mobility Show under the new name, KG Mobility displayed a total of 17 vehicles over a 2,100㎡ exhibition space, including the authentic electric SUV ‘Torres EVX’ and the off-road styled special model ‘Torres TX,’ as well as design concept models O100, F100, KR10, a variety of mass-production models emphasizing outdoor trends through tuning, and the New EV platform embodying future electrification technologies.

The ‘Torres EVX,’ generating significant interest as the most anticipated model at the Seoul Mobility Show, is reborn using the robust authentic SUV Torres platform, merging structural durability with an EV sensibility. As KG Mobility’s first electrified model post-name change, it combines a future-forward style with an off-road concept based on the design philosophy ‘Powered by Toughness,’ making it a unique mid-sized electric SUV in the country.

The front design of the Torres EVX expresses KG Mobility’s electric vehicle identity through its powerful and simple line aesthetics and detailed horizontal LED daytime running lights (DRL) known as ‘Kinetic Lighting Block.’ The towing cover on the front bumper and the rear combination lamp symbolize the elements of the Korean flag, with designs representing ‘Ri’ symbolizing fire and ‘Gon’ representing earth.

The interior maximizes driver convenience and space through Ergonomic Slim & Wide design applied to Torres. A 12.3-inch panoramic dual display connecting navigation significantly improves information provision and visibility for the driver.

The wood-patterned center garnish and the extended air vents blend seamlessly with the dashboard design to create a more expansive interior space. The floating type console equipped with wireless charging adds convenience by allowing for diverse storage options while maintaining style.

With the DNA of Torres, the Torres EVX, a mid-sized electric SUV, boasts generous space utilization, making it suitable for outdoor activities like camping and vehicle living. Furthermore, with a high ground clearance, it enables off-road performance that has not been experienced in electrified models, promising an exhilarating journey of adventure.

The safety of the Torres EVX has also been significantly enhanced. It employs lithium iron phosphate batteries, widely adopted by global brands for improved safety, increasing resistance to external impacts and substantially reducing the risk of fire while enhancing durability. Moreover, optimized design is expected to allow for approximately 500 km (WLTP standard) on a single charge and over 420 km under domestic standards (*subject to changes at launch). It is expected to offer a remarkable price-to-performance ratio of around 30 million won, dependent on regional electric vehicle subsidies, with precise pricing confirmed during the second half of the year.

Additionally, KG Mobility introduced the special model ‘Torres TX,’ expanding its lineup for outdoor activities and extreme leisure, based on the Torres T7 model. Torres TX features specialized parts like 20-inch forged wheels and angular wheel arches to create a more dynamic authentic SUV style.

Torres TX includes a roof flat carrier, allowing for the transport of bicycles and sports equipment according to user preferences, while side storage boxes and roof climbing handles enhance convenience. The interior luggage space offers cleanliness and practicality for camping and outdoor activities with installations for a portable multi-air compressor and water tank.

The starting price for the Torres TX is 35,240,000 won, while the existing Torres T5 trim adds basic specifications including LED fog lamps and luggage board & tray, priced at 28,300,000 won. The T7 trim comes with features like Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) and is priced at 31,500,000 won.

Alignment with KG Mobility’s mid-long term development plan led to the unveiling of design concept models O100 and F100, as well as the design model development process KR10, showcasing the future encapsulated in the New EV platform focused on electrification technology.

The new electric pickup model O100, based on the Torres EVX, emphasizes practicality in design while presenting a sturdy body shape suitable for urban and outdoor lifestyles.

F100 showcases a new direction for a large electric SUV by adding a mechanical and futuristic feel to the traditional SUV’s bold image, expanding living spaces. The various configurations of the Kinetic Lighting Block concept allow for individual expression, while the more advanced digital gesture front design indicates the direction of KG Mobility’s EV identity.

KR10, inheriting the heritage of the iconic Korean automotive design Korando, has unveiled a clay model, raising curiosity about the highly anticipated KR10 design.

KG Mobility’s new New EV platform, adaptable to both front and rear motors, allows drivers to switch between rear/front, 2-wheel/4-wheel drive based on the driving environment. The integrated design of Front 3-in-1 and Rear 8-in-1 components enhances space efficiency through the frunk configuration. The Flat Battery System and optimized design enable adjustments to the wheelbase to create more room inside. This innovative New EV platform, which can support expanded segment lineups with various advanced technologies, is slated for completion and application by 2026.

Additionally, a variety of mass-produced models were displayed, targeting trendy outdoor activities like camping and leisure through tuning and dress-up concepts.

The Adventure Zone features the all-new Rexton limousine made with high-end independent seating and convenience features, along with the New Rexton Sports Khan and Torres, guiding visitors to the wild and tough off-roading world.

The Delight Zone showcases vehicles suitable for family picnics and outdoor activities, exhibiting the Korando and Tivoli. Meanwhile, the KG S&C Zone, newly established to pioneer the tuning market, features the Tivoli Air and Torres camping tuning cars alongside the New Rexton Sports motorhome, presenting various camping concepts.

Various side events are planned to bring joy to visitors. During the final weekend of the exhibition, live auction events will be conducted simultaneously online and offline for four fully dressed-up Torres and two New Rexton Sports models displayed in the Adventure Zone via the live auction platform ‘Grip.’

Moreover, an RC car experience event specially created for the newly unveiled Torres EVX is planned, as well as a roulette event offering diverse prizes for customers who reserve consultations for the Torres EVX.
