The Korean Automotive Journalists Association has selected the Chevrolet Trax Crossover as the Car of the Month for April 2023.
The Car of the Month is announced by the Car of the Year Selection Committee under the association, which evaluates newly launched vehicles and minor model changes from the 1st to the end of the previous month.
Evaluations consist of five criteria: ▲ Interior/Exterior Design and Emotional Quality ▲ Safety and Convenience Features ▲ Power Performance ▲ Energy Efficiency and Greenhouse Gas Emissions ▲ Marketability and Purchase Intention.
Among the new vehicles introduced last month were Renault Korea’s The New QM6, BMW’s New X1, Chevrolet Trax Crossover, and Hyundai’s The New Avante (listed in alphabetical order). After fierce competition, the Chevrolet Trax Crossover was ultimately selected as the Car of the Month, scoring 36.7 points out of a possible 50.
The Trax Crossover received a high score of 9 points (out of 10) in the Marketability and Purchase Intention category, 8 points in Interior/Exterior Design and Emotional Quality, and 7.3 points in Energy Efficiency and Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
Chung Ji-yeon, the chairperson of the Car of the Year Selection Committee, stated, “The Chevrolet Trax Crossover is a key new vehicle that will bear the future of GM’s Korean operations, starting from an astonishing price in the low 20 million won range.” She further added, “It stands out for its dynamic design, spacious interior suitable for camping and outdoor uses, driver-centered cabin design, specialized features for domestic customers, and quiet interior.”
