Porsche introduces the ‘My Porsche App’, the first integration of Apple CarPlay and vehicle functionality by an automotive manufacturer, aimed at providing an innovative and personalized user experience.

Matthias Ulbrich, CIO of Porsche AG and CEO of Porsche Digital, expressed, “We are excited to offer new customer experiences through the improved My Porsche App and Apple CarPlay.” He emphasized, “Technology and digitalization are crucial elements for maintaining Porsche as an appealing brand now and in the next 75 years.”

The My Porsche App serves as a hub for digital management and control of Porsche vehicles. It displays the battery charging status and allows users to adjust the air conditioning. Additionally, it connects to existing accounts from third-party providers like Apple Music and integrates them with the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) app.

The updated My Porsche App combines vehicle functionality with Apple CarPlay, including the display of specific model images on Apple CarPlay. Key features easily adjustable through the My Porsche App include audio settings like sound profiles, radio channel changes, indoor temperature, and ambient lighting adjustments.

These features can leverage the quick functions of Apple CarPlay for wellness modes such as “Relax,” “Warm Up,” and “Refresh.” Furthermore, users can seamlessly control various vehicle functions while driving using Siri.

Simply scanning the QR code displayed on the PCM activates the app, ensuring an enhanced user experience with regular updates introducing new features. The newly launched Porsche Cayenne showcases this technology first, with plans for gradual implementation in other models.

Porsche Digital, a subsidiary responsible for Porsche’s technology and digitalization, develops and expands new digital business models and optimizes existing products for users.

Porsche Digital is also driving growth within the startup ecosystem by developing digital products and services.
