Scania Korea Group is recruiting students for the second intake of the ‘Scania Technician Academy,’ launched last year to train truck maintenance experts.

The ‘Scania Technician Academy’ is an internship program designed to cultivate professional technicians who will lead the commercial vehicle industry. Selected trainees will receive systematic education on commercial vehicle maintenance and gain firsthand experience in the industry’s work environment. Some of the students from the highly competitive first batch have secured regular positions at Scania Korea and are making tangible contributions, marking this program as a significant component of Scania Korea’s talent development initiatives.

Kim Sung-chan, who participated as a student in the first batch and is now a service technician at Scania Korea, shared, “This program provides a variety of opportunities for candidates without a background in the field or relevant qualifications to grow into maintenance experts through structured education and on-site experience. The biggest advantage is the ability to learn and grow together in Scania’s corporate culture—one that encourages and helps develop future talents through global technical know-how.”

Applicants must be adults over 18 interested in automotive maintenance, with the recruitment period running from July 24 to August 11. Applications can be submitted by sending a resume and cover letter to the official Scania Korea website. A maximum of six students will be selected after document screening and interviews, with successful candidates notified individually.

Selected trainees will receive systematic theoretical and technical training from Scania’s specialized trainers on August 25 at Scania Korea’s headquarters (Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul) and training center (Sacheon, Gyeongnam). They will then be placed at a Scania operational service center close to their residence for one-on-one maintenance and practical training. The training period lasts a total of three months, during which Scania Korea will support the trainees with a stipend (educational expenses), health insurance, medical costs, holiday gifts, and lunch, as well as work clothing and necessary equipment. Trainees who complete the internship program will receive a certificate and gain preference points when applying for technician positions at Scania’s service centers.

Per Rillequist, CEO of Scania Korea, stated, “We expect to train outstanding talents who will lead the commercial vehicle industry through the ‘Scania Technician Academy’ program while meeting the heightened expectations and demands of our customers. This is a great opportunity for individuals considering a career in commercial vehicle maintenance to develop their capabilities and aspirations as repair experts, so we encourage many to apply with interest.”
