JLR Korea has begun pre-sales ahead of the official launch of the luxury SUV Range Rover 2024 model.

Range Rover defines modern luxury and offers more refined elegance, customer choice specifications, and personalization options than ever. As a pioneer in the luxury SUV market for 50 years, Range Rover has maintained its top position by combining serene comfort, tranquility, and the ability to conquer all terrains. The fifth-generation Range Rover reinterprets the unique elements of Range Rover in a modern way, making it the most appealing model that combines a new level of elegance, technical sophistication, and perfect connectivity.

The 2024 Range Rover introduces a new plug-in hybrid powertrain following the efficient mild hybrid model as part of the Reimagine strategy, equipping the SV model with a more powerful dedicated turbo V8 gasoline engine. Moreover, it offers 4, 5, and 7-passenger interiors, available in both standard and long-wheelbase designs, ensuring comfort in any environment.

The new MLA (Modular Longitudinal Architecture)-Flex platform showcases remarkable flexibility that accommodates various powertrains while providing unparalleled performance, agile handling, and top-level refinement. The extended-range PHEV model introduced on this foundation combines the excellent quality that Range Rover is known for with a new level of sophistication for luxury SUVs, offering an appealing balance between driving performance, refinement, and driving dynamics. The P550e PHEV model available from the 2024 Range Rover features Range Rover’s intricate 3.0-liter I6 Ingenium gasoline engine, a 160kW electric motor integrated with the transmission, and a 38.2kWh lithium-ion battery. The powerful P550e engine combines the Ingenium engine producing 400PS with a 160kW electric motor to deliver a maximum output of 550PS, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds.

The new PHEV powertrain can achieve over 100 km on electric energy alone according to WLTP standards, dramatically reducing CO2 emissions through exceptional engineering. Additionally, it features a 50kW DC fast charging capability, allowing the battery to charge to about 80% in under an hour, and charging from home using a 7.2kW AC wallbox requires about 5 hours for a full charge.

From the 2024 model onward, the MHEV system is applied to the V8 gasoline engine as well. The MHEV system stores energy that may be lost during deceleration in a 48V lithium-ion battery, which is then used by the BiSG (Belt-integrated Starter Generator) to ensure the responsiveness and precise operation of the stop/start system. With its next-generation stop/start technology, the engine turns off when the vehicle is braking at speeds below 3 km/h, and when the accelerator pedal is pressed again, the engine restarts smoothly and quickly, allowing for comfortable and stable driving.

The Range Rover SV, crafted with the artistry of SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) specialists, provides exquisite and elegant customization options. It is equipped with the more powerful SV-exclusive turbo V8 MHEV gasoline engine, delivering 615 horsepower and 76.5 kg.m of maximum torque for smoother and stronger performance. The time to accelerate from rest to 100 km/h is just 4.6 seconds.

The exterior of the Range Rover elevates modernist design philosophy, offering a contemporary reinterpretation of the trademark profile. Seamless joints and minimal boundaries create a smooth silhouette, while the completely redesigned rear features vertical taillights with gloss black panels and Hidden-until-lit lighting technology, providing a sense of unity as if one surface is extended.

Range Rover boasts a modern and sophisticated interior equipped with intuitive, user-friendly technology. Elegant and refined surfaces harmonize the highest quality materials with innovative technology, offering a serene sanctuary for all passengers.

With the elimination of climate control buttons that were previously located under the infotainment screen and volume control beside the gear shift, all functions are now consolidated into the 13.1-inch Pivi Pro screen at the top. The space where climate and seat temperature controllers were situated is now enhanced with trim finishers selected as interior options, contributing to a more elegant and modern atmosphere within the cabin.

The 13.1-inch curved floating glass touchscreen, designed to appear as if it’s hovering above the dashboard, houses the next-generation Pivi Pro infotainment system that provides technological sophistication and perfect connectivity. Pivi Pro simplifies access to individual functions and streamlines interaction procedures, allowing most tasks to be performed with just two taps on the home screen.

Controls for interior temperature, heated and cooled seats, driving modes, and audio volume that were previously managed through lower controllers are now easily operated via a new multifunction sidebar controller called “touch and sliding control” within the infotainment screen. Moreover, a new “one-touch shortcut panel” has been added to facilitate quick access to frequently used functions upon entering the vehicle and starting the engine.

The second-row seats, featuring luxurious executive-class seating, offer both the comfort of 4-passenger seating and the versatility of 5-passenger seating. With just a push of a button, the center armrest located between the two outer rear seats folds down, and an electric center console slides into place. Each rear seat is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen controller, allowing for detailed adjustments of the rear environment. The heated and cooled memory seats in the rear, with power lumbar support and adjustable headrests, can recline up to 12 degrees for ultimate relaxation. Center and door armrest heating and hot stone massage features are incorporated into a deeper seat cushion that provides firm shoulder support, ensuring the utmost stability and comfort for passengers.

Leveraging cutting-edge powertrains, the Range Rover delivers a new level of driving performance worthy of its flagship SUV status. The newly added adaptive off-road cruise control is a reactive system that reads the terrain while off-roading, automatically adjusting speed up to 30 km/h based on factors such as surface condition, incline, articulation, and steering angle. Additionally, it is equipped with electronic air suspension that ensures optimal ride comfort, all-wheel steering for navigating narrow urban roads, Dynamic Response Pro for controlling body movement, Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) systems for optimal traction on and off-road, and an Active Locking Rear Differential system that enhances performance in high-speed corners, slippery surfaces, and off-road scenarios, along with the automatic Terrain Response®2 system.

Robin Colgan, CEO of JLR Korea, stated, “The 2024 Range Rover model, which has continuously innovated since its first launch in 1970, offers a more refined modern luxury experience through meticulous changes. The introduction of the extended-range plug-in hybrid model will provide a new level of driving experience where performance, refinement, and efficiency are perfectly balanced.”
