‘Volvo Suwon Showroom’

On the 29th, Volvo Cars Korea announced the opening of the ‘Volvo Suwon Showroom’ at the newly launched Starfield Suwon.

The Volvo Suwon Showroom, operated by Kolon Automotive, an official dealer of Volvo Cars Korea, spans approximately 141 pyeong (466.23㎡) and features a large-scale showroom. Like the showrooms in Goyang and Hanam, it incorporates the Downtown Store (DTS) expansion concept. Furthermore, the contemporary design reflects the spatial characteristics of Starfield Suwon, catering to the millennial generation who enjoy urban lifestyle experiences.

The customer lounge and consultation area at the new Volvo Suwon Showroom create a warm Nordic atmosphere with Nordic lighting imported from Sweden and ash wood finishes. The vehicle display area features a con-floor layout, allowing customers to fully concentrate on the vehicles. The showroom utilizes paints and materials that minimize chemical substances and incorporates sustainably designed furniture, fully reflecting Volvo’s commitment to eco-friendliness and sustainability through the use of digital devices instead of paper in all sales processes.

In addition, the Volvo Suwon Showroom includes ▲ an ‘open space’ designed like a comfortable Swedish living room, ▲ an ‘art area’ where visitors can simultaneously experience identities of Sweden and Korea, ▲ a ‘heritage zone’ featuring miniatures of classic Volvo cars, ▲ a ‘tech zone’ showcasing Volvo’s technological innovations in safety, and ▲ a ‘car studio’ where customers can touch and experience the interior materials and leathers used in Volvo vehicles, providing diverse visual and experiential opportunities.

To celebrate the opening of the Suwon showroom, Kolon Automotive will run various promotions from January 26 to February 29. Firstly, visitors and consultation customers will receive a reusable Volvo bag (limited to 40 per day), while test drive customers (excluding weekends) will receive a Volvo fabric folding box, and contract customers will receive a special package from Weleda. Additionally, customers who upload posts on Instagram with required hashtags while visiting the Suwon showroom will receive a Volvo keychain (limited to 5 per day). Furthermore, until April 30, customers taking delivery of their vehicles will have the chance to win generous prizes including Bang & Olufsen’s Beosound and Samsung Air Dressers through a lottery (subject to early termination when stock runs out).

Lee Yun-mo, CEO of Volvo Cars Korea, expressed, “We are very pleased to showcase Swedish luxury unique to Volvo Cars in Starfield Suwon, which will emerge as a new space for premium import car brands.” He added, “In order to expand our reach to more customers, we will strive to present various concept showrooms reflecting urban characteristics in the future.”

Meanwhile, despite the domestic import car market experiencing a decline for the first time in four years, Volvo Cars Korea recorded a sales increase of 18% year-on-year, selling 17,018 vehicles, with the XC60 becoming the best-selling imported SUV. Consequently, Volvo Cars Korea has set a sales target of 18,000 for 2024 and plans to solidify its foundations for reaching a 30,000-vehicle era through an additional investment of 100 billion won to strengthen its sales and service network.
