The Korean Automobile Journalists Association announced on the 6th that the Mercedes-Benz New E-Class was chosen as the Car of the Month for February 2024.
The selection committee for the Car of the Year evaluates new and refreshed models released between the 1st and the end of the previous month and announces the Car of the Month accordingly.
The evaluation consists of five criteria: ▲Interior and exterior design and sensory quality ▲Safety and convenience features ▲Performance ▲Energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions ▲Product value and purchase intention.
Among the new cars unveiled last month, the Land Rover New Discovery Sport, Mercedes-Benz New E-Class, Audi The New SQ7 TFSI, and Jeep The New 2024 Wrangler (in alphabetical order) were nominated as candidates for the Car of the Month, and after fierce competition, the Mercedes-Benz New E-Class was ultimately selected with a score of 32.7 out of 50.
The Mercedes-Benz New E-Class scored 7.7 out of 10 in the interior and exterior design and sensory quality category, and 7 points for safety and convenience specifications.
Jeong Ji-yeon, the chairperson of the Car of the Year selection committee, stated: “The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class combines tradition and modernity in its design and is equipped with the third-generation MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system, providing a new level of digital experience. The application of electrification technologies across all models and the advanced safety and convenience equipment are particularly noteworthy.”
