‘Renault’s new Software Director Regi Bignon’

Renault Korea has announced the appointment of Regi Bignon, a software and electrical/electronics expert, as their new director effective February, aimed at advancing software-centered vehicle development.

Regi Bignon, newly appointed as the head of system engineering operations at Renault Technology Korea, previously served as the head of a research institute at Valeo, a global automotive supply company.

While at Valeo, he managed over 200 researchers and established partnerships with the Renault Group for electrical/electronics and software development, contributing to the development and implementation of BMW’s ADAS systems. Prior to that, he played a critical role as the global manager for electrical/electronics projects within the Renault-Nissan Alliance.

Renault Korea anticipates that Director Bignon will lead the development of software and electrical systems for autonomous driving, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and connectivity in future Renault Korea vehicles, and hopes to see these successes reflected in the ongoing Aurora project.

Stefan Debleze, President of Renault Korea, remarked, “We have recruited a talented individual with outstanding capabilities in software and EE systems,” and added that the company will actively focus on reviving the domestic market and strengthening the Renault brand in Korea, alongside last year’s organizational restructuring that included Emmanuel Alnawakil, the head of sales and marketing.

Meanwhile, Renault Technology Korea plans to transform into an innovative research center focused on design, electrification, and software, with Director Regi Bignon expected to contribute to this change.
