On the day of this year’s Lunar New Year, the number of daily active users (DAU) on TMAP increased by 9.23% compared to the previous year. Notably, the newly opened shopping mall Starfield Suwon and the Incheon Yeongjongdo Mohican Inspire Entertainment Resort quickly rose to the top ranks.

TMAP Mobility reported that on the Lunar New Year day of the 10th, the DAU reached 5,553,000 users. This is a 9.23% increase compared to last year’s Lunar New Year (January 22, 5,083,562 users) and a 42.78% increase compared to 2022 (February 1, 3,889,389 users).

The most frequently set destination using TMAP navigation on Lunar New Year was Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 (53,244 cases). Following closely was Starfield Suwon with 50,216 cases, achieving second place just 15 days after its opening. Inspire Resort, which is scheduled to grand open on March 5, also made the list with 14,747 cases, showcasing the popularity of newly opened venues.

Additionally, there was significant traffic to Starfield Hanam (35,400 cases), Starfield Goyang (28,480 cases), Gimpo International Airport Domestic Terminal (25,312 cases), and Incheon International Airport Terminal 2 (23,776 cases).

The increase in the number of destination settings for airports was also noteworthy. For Incheon International Airport Terminal 2, the increase was 40% compared to last year (16,956 cases), while Gimpo International Airport International Terminal and Cheongju International Airport saw increases of 46% and 59%, respectively, compared to last year’s Lunar New Year. This can be interpreted as a result of increased domestic and international travelers and passengers returning home for the holidays.
