MAN Truck & Bus Korea is launching its marine and land engine business, expanding its operational territory in the domestic market.

To this end, MAN Truck & Bus has established a separate department dedicated to the sales and service of MAN marine and land engines earlier this year. The product lineup from MAN Truck & Bus will now include marine and land engines, and in the future, the company will provide the sale of diesel and gas engines for commercial vessels and power generation, as well as parts supply, repairs, and related services in the Korean market.

Currently, MAN Truck & Bus operates 11 sales branches and 22 service centers in Korea, focusing on the sales of MAN’s commercial vehicle products. With the establishment of this new engine division, it can now offer high-quality marine and land engines to Korean customers, providing differentiated services through MAN Truck & Bus’s robust engine network.

Lainer Rossner, Global Sales Head for Engines at MAN Truck & Bus Group, expressed his enthusiasm about the introduction of MAN engines in the Korean market, stating, “I am glad that we can create synergies within the MAN Truck & Bus Group and enhance our support for Korean customers. This will enable us to have a more robust impact on smooth parts supply and service issue resolution.”

Kim Eui-joong, Executive Director overseeing the marine and land engine business at MAN Truck & Bus Korea, emphasized, “With MAN starting its engine-related businesses, we are strengthening our influence in the Korean engine market, meeting the rising demand for high-quality engines. Potential customers will be able to enjoy MAN’s outstanding technology in engines.”

MAN Truck & Bus is planning to initially target the emergency power diesel engine market and the engine market that utilizes diverse gas fuels for continuous power production. They particularly aim to cater to high-demand customers such as residential complexes, data centers, and hospitals, where an immediate and stable response during power failures is crucial. The emergency power MAN engines have proven their technological prowess worldwide, capable of providing power from basic supply to peak load and emergency power supply.

In addition, as the marine leisure industry evolves, the demand for marine engines for various commercial vessels is expected to rise, leading MAN Truck & Bus to start targeting this market as a strategic market.

MAN marine engines consist of a range of products with horsepower from 200 to 2,200 (147 to 1,618 kW), leading the global marine engine market. Notably, MAN Truck & Bus Group provides over 500 service partners located at major ports worldwide to yacht and commercial vessel stakeholders and related customers.
