K Car is partnering with the Korea Expressway Corporation to establish a system for changing customer information for Hi-Pass devices aimed at direct vehicle purchase customers.

K Car entered into a memorandum of understanding with Korea Expressway Corporation on the 20th at the Korea Expressway Corporation headquarters in Gyeongsangbuk-do, Gimcheon. This partnership aims to alleviate the inconvenience associated with registering Hi-Pass devices when purchasing used cars, thereby enhancing customer convenience. Present at the signing ceremony were Jeon Ho-il, Executive Director of Marketing at K Car, and Ok Byeong-seok, Head of Sales at Korea Expressway Corporation.

Through this agreement, the two companies will collaborate to establish a connection system and network for linking customer information. Customers purchasing direct used cars through K Car’s ‘Home Service for Buying a Car’ or in-store visits will not need to change their Hi-Pass device information if they agree to provide personal information.

Previously, customers had to visit the highway sales office or access the highway toll website to change their Hi-Pass customer information when trading used cars. Furthermore, if their information was not updated, they would be unable to receive various services such as emergency evacuation calls from the corporation, notifications about unpaid toll fees, and alerts regarding Hi-Pass device errors.

A representative from Korea Expressway Corporation stated, “We expect that the partnership with K Car will improve the inconveniences faced by customers during used car transactions,” and added, “We will strive to make it easier and safer for highway users to utilize Hi-Pass through services like emergency evacuation calls and notifications for unpaid toll fees.”

Jeon Ho-il, Executive Director of Marketing at K Car, commented, “Currently, the utilization rate of Hi-Pass exceeds 90%, making it a common practice. However, there had been the inconvenience of having to change the ownership of the device directly when purchasing a used car. Going forward, K Car will continue to establish various systems to enhance customer convenience.”
