The Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA) held a general meeting on the 27th at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, where it announced the re-election of Til Share, CEO of Volkswagen Group Korea, as the 16th President of KAIDA.

Til Share, who has built a career in the automotive industry since the 1990s, has extensive expertise from holding key positions across various brands in Asian markets, including Hong Kong, China, and Japan. He also served as the President of the Japan Automobile Importers Association (JAIA). Share moved to Korea in 2021 as the CEO of Volkswagen Group Korea and became a regular member of KAIDA, being appointed as the 15th president of the association in March 2022.

During his tenure as President of KAIDA, Til Share has worked to enhance mutual cooperation and interaction with domestic and foreign automotive industries and related organizations. He has particularly responded swiftly to industry trends such as the electrification transition in the automotive sector. Additionally, he has been recognized for strategically leading KAIDA to improve the environment of the domestic import car market by expanding communication channels.

Til Share expressed, “In a time when the paradigm of the automotive industry is rapidly changing, I feel a deep sense of responsibility as I take on this significant role. I aim to strengthen collaboration with member companies and stakeholders in a consistent and meaningful manner, while ensuring that the association can provide essential market insights and data throughout this process.”

Meanwhile, KAIDA announced the completion of the board of directors’ appointments during the general meeting. Confirmations were made for the reappointment of current board members, including Manabu Konyama, President of Toyota Korea, Kwangcheol Kim, CEO of FMK, Matthias Waitl, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea, and Sangyoon Han, CEO of BMW Group Korea. Additionally, Bang-il, CEO of Stellantis Korea, has been appointed as a new director.
