TmoneyGO On-da Taxi, known for its ‘Good Taxi’ initiative, is reinforcing its ESG management to revive the struggling local taxi sector.

On the 4th, Tmoney announced its plan to strengthen collaboration with the local taxi industry through TmoneyGO On-da Taxi, while expanding its unique ‘regional cooperation model’ nationwide. Tmoney aims to actively support the local taxi businesses with its platform management expertise and marketing promotions. This initiative is expected to facilitate the self-sustainability of local taxis, creating a virtuous cycle where taxi consumers are encouraged to return to local services through various benefits offered by TmoneyGO On-da Taxi.

TmoneyGO recently achieved a cumulative membership of 10 million, establishing itself as a ‘mobility super app.’ The local taxi industry is expected to see tangible benefits by utilizing this app. As the number of calls increases, not only will the regional taxi industry be revitalized, but it will also improve convenience for citizens since taxis can be accessed through smartphones or phone calls. Additionally, utilizing the big data from TmoneyGO On-da Taxi will aid local governments in formulating taxi policies and enhancing operations. Importantly, because traditional phone call taxis can still be accessed, this service may be critical for digital marginalized groups, such as the elderly who have difficulty using smartphones.

Several local taxi companies have successfully applied the ‘regional collaboration model’ of TmoneyGO On-da Taxi. Starting with the launch of the Changwon Integrated Call in October 2022, this was followed by the launch of the Seoul Voucher Call and Chuncheon Integrated Call in October 2023, and the successful launch of the Wonju and Daejeon Integrated Calls in November 2023. Through this model, Tmoney has partnered with local taxi companies in Gyeongnam, Gangwon, and Chungcheong provinces to offer taxi services that satisfy both the industry and citizens alike. The Changwon Integrated Call was selected as one of the seven major transportation innovations in Changwon City for 2023, while the Seoul Voucher Call is praised as an innovative system that enhances the mobility rights of people with disabilities. The Chuncheon Integrated Call has established itself as the top representative call service in Chuncheon, having integrated with a local smile call service. Similarly, the Wonju Integrated Call is the leading service in the region, while the Daejeon Integrated Call, branded as ‘Yangban On-da Call,’ is recognized as an excellent example of regional collaboration. Recently, Yangju City has also significantly improved its competitiveness and service quality through unified call services.

Mr. Jo Dong-wook, Executive Director of Tmoney’s Mobility Division, emphasized, “TmoneyGO On-da Taxi, with over 10 million cumulative members, is the only platform that can revive the struggling local taxi industry.” He added, “As a company fulfilling its social responsibilities, TmoneyGO On-da Taxi will do its utmost to activate the local economy for taxi companies, customers, and local governments alike.”

TmoneyGO On-da Taxi is accelerating its nationwide service expansion in cities like Seoul, Gwangmyeong, Bucheon, Yangju, Wonju, Chuncheon, Daejeon, Changwon, Gumi, and Gimhae, based on active participation from the taxi industry. With tailored support for local taxi businesses and ESG management, it aims for collaborative development with taxi workers across the country.
