TMAP Mobility announced on the 15th that it will provide information about cherry blossom spots through its real-time popular and congested area search service, ‘T Now’.

According to an analysis of driving data during last year’s cherry blossom blooming period (March-April), the most crowded area was Changwon City, Gyeongsangnam-do. Including Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, the Naval Academy, Jinhae Maritime Park, and the cherry blossom path at Gyeonghwa Station, there were over 200,000 route guidance queries only in the Jinhae District of Changwon City.

In Seoul and the metropolitan area, popular spots included Ilsan Lake Park, Songdo Central Park, Yuldong Park, the National Cemetery of Korea, Seoul Forest, Sihung Gae-gol Ecological Park, Seolbong Park, Anyang Chung Hoon Cherry Blossom Road, and Seoul Grand Park Cherry Blossom Road.

The cherry blossom spots tab on T Now offers information on over 270 famous locations nationwide that are great for cherry blossom viewing, as well as hidden gems in your neighborhood. This year, starting from the 22nd, during the peak blooming period, TMAP bike services will be available at more than 30 major spots including the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, Gyeongpo Pavilion in Gangneung, and Yeouido Yunjungro. TMAP bike is a shared electric bicycle service available to anyone aged 14 and over through the TMAP application. The first three uses are free of unlocking fees.

T Now is a function that analyzes real-time driving data from over 20 million drivers nationwide every five minutes to introduce the most popular locations. It provides information on the number of moving vehicles in real-time heading to a destination. Last year, the number of searches for destinations in the T Now ‘cherry blossom spots’ tab reached 1.3 million.

Lee Han-sam, the leader of TMAP Mobility’s Local Services team, stated, “This spring, we are providing a cherry blossom spots tab so that users going out for flower viewing can easily check popular spots at a glance,” and added, “We will continue to provide interesting and useful services through various thematic content in the future.”
