Nick Cassidy from Jaguar TCS Racing has announced that he achieved his fourth podium finish of the season during Round 7 of the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship held on the 14th in Misano, Italy.

After an intense battle with Nico Müller from the Apt Cupra Formula E team, Cassidy secured third place at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Having competed in Q Group qualifiers, he advanced to the qualifying duel, showcasing the exceptional performance of the Jaguar I-TYPE 6, securing the top timing in the group. However, due to track limit regulations, his semi-final lap time was disqualified, which placed him on the 8th grid.

At the start of the race, Cassidy pushed into third place and maintained the lead until the sixth lap. To keep up in the rankings, he activated attack mode early on, but after dropping to seventh, he focused on maximizing efficiency for the latter part of the race. With just two laps to go, he overtook Maximilian Günther from Maserati MSG Racing using his energy advantage and crossed the finish line 0.05 seconds ahead of Nico Müller, clinching third place.

The Jaguar TCS Racing team successfully concluded the double-header race in Misano on the 13th and 14th, maintaining their lead in the team standings of the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Cassidy has risen to fourth place in the driver rankings, while Mitch Evans currently holds seventh.

Team Director James Barclay remarked, “This race showcased fabulous skills and strategy. Nick’s podium finish again is an outstanding achievement,” adding, “We are still on top of the team standings and are looking forward to the upcoming Monaco race. Racing in Monaco has always yielded good results for us; however, in this championship, nothing can be taken for granted, so we will strive to replicate high performance this year as well.”

Driver Nick Cassidy commented, “I am satisfied with the result of Round 7. The last three races weren’t easy, so I am really happy to be back on the podium,” and expressed gratitude to the entire team, stating, “Now, I will focus on the Monaco E-Prix.”

Meanwhile, Round 8 of the 2024 ABB Formula E World Championship will take place on the 27th in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
