MINI Korea has officially launched the ‘New MINI Cooper S 3-Door’ model, which combines the unique MINI sensibility with a modern touch.
The fourth-generation model, which has been completely revamped for the first time in ten years since its debut in 2014, has transformed into a more sophisticated premium vehicle based on a newly interpreted iconic design, a lively driving feel represented by a go-kart feeling, and a groundbreaking digital experience.
In addition, the name ‘Cooper’ in this fourth-generation MINI family product line no longer refers to engine specifications, but signifies the MINI lineup including the 3-Door, 5-Door, and MINI Convertible models.
The New MINI Cooper modernly reinterprets the key elements inherited from the classic Mini, born in 1959, while reflecting minimalism to complete a design that showcases both quintessential MINI features and new charms.
The exterior, which showcases the unique body proportions of MINI, offers a clean and sophisticated impression with smoothly refined body surface design. The front features the model’s distinctive round headlights and a prominent octagonal grille that emphasize MINI’s iconic design. The rear maintains the Union Jack-shaped rear lights, preserving MINI’s unique design heritage, while also introducing a new black handle strip that crosses between the rear lights for a more stylish look.
The interior maximizes a minimalist feel by retaining only the essential elements. Reflecting the heritage of the classic Mini, the MINI toggle bar retains only the key buttons to allow intuitive operation of core functions necessary for driving. A 240mm round OLED display is placed in the center of the dashboard to create a high-tech atmosphere, integrating various functions such as the instrument panel, navigation, interior climate control, and in-car infotainment.
Additionally, it is equipped with MINI’s special features that enhance the driver’s personal preferences and individuality both inside and outside the vehicle. The ‘MINI Signature LED Light’ which can be selected in 3 different modes and the ‘MINI Experience Mode’ offering various features such as display graphics, dashboard ambient projection, driving sounds, and function sounds provide an immersive driving experience through 7 different concepts.
The New MINI Cooper offers a digital experience like never before. It comes with the latest MINI operating system 9, featuring a Tmap-based Korean MINI navigation system, in-car gaming, video streaming, and support for third-party apps. It also provides various connected features such as MINI Digital Key Plus, personalization options for the round OLED display background, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto for enhanced convenience.
Advanced driver assistance features supporting safe and enjoyable driving have also been significantly enhanced. Every model includes a ‘Driving Assistant’ with front collision warning, pedestrian detection, and lane departure warning, along with a ‘Parking Assistant’ that supports parking and reversing functions, LED headlights with high beam assistance, two-zone automatic climate control, comfort access, and heated seats as standard features.
Depending on the trim level, additional premium safety and convenience features such as active cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, ‘Parking Assistant Plus’ that includes surround view and remote 3D view, and a panoramic glass sunroof providing a high sense of openness are available.
The New MINI Cooper S 3-Door is equipped with a MINI TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers a maximum output of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 30.6 kg·m, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds.
The New MINI Cooper S is launched as a single favored trim with a price of 48,100,000 KRW (including VAT).
