‘Casper Electric’

Hyundai announced that they will begin pre-orders for the ‘Casper Electric’ Inspiration model, which features outstanding value and a reasonable price, starting from Tuesday, the 9th.

The Casper Electric lineup includes: ▲premium offerings at reasonable prices, ▲the Inspiration model with maximum range on a single charge, and ▲a cross model designed for outdoor enthusiasts, featuring an off-road style exterior.

Notably, the Casper Electric showcases a robust design with pixel graphics, a generous driving range of 315 km on a single charge (based on Inspiration model with 15-inch alloy wheels), and a diverse array of convenience and safety features that elevate its appeal beyond standard classifications.

Starting with the pre-order for the Casper Electric Inspiration model, Hyundai plans to sequentially introduce premium and crossover models.

The starting sales price for the Casper Electric Inspiration model is set at 31.5 million won before electric vehicle tax incentives, and it is expected that with the completion of eco-friendly vehicle registration for tax benefits, the price will be around 29.9 million won.

Considering government and local subsidies, it is anticipated that the Inspiration model could be purchased for around 20 million won in the early to mid-range. (* Subsidy support amounts may vary by municipality)

In the meantime, Hyundai will conduct various marketing activities alongside the launch of Casper Electric pre-orders.

From July 12 (Friday) to July 21 (Sunday), Hyundai will operate a large-scale pop-up exhibition space called ‘Casper Electric Studio Apgujeong’ in front of Apgujeong Rodeo Station (located in Gangnam, Seoul).

At the ‘Casper Electric Studio Apgujeong’, visitors can directly experience the Casper Electric and receive guidance from docents about the product and online purchasing process.

Additionally, on the first basement floor, a ‘Solver Ability Test’ area will be set up where customers can experience the main features of the Casper Electric in a gaming format. The fastest participant to complete the test during the pop-up exhibition will win a Casper Electric.

Hyundai is collaborating with popular webtoon artist and broadcaster Giann84 to present a limited edition phone grip designed by him for customers who complete pre-orders on the official Casper website during the pre-order period.

Moreover, the Casper Electric wrapped in Giann84’s new design will be showcased at the Casper Studio Songpa, with limited edition t-shirts designed by Giann84 available through a lottery for customers who complete pre-orders on-site.

Moreover, during the pre-order period, customers visiting the Casper Studio Songpa will receive a 1-month subscription to the ‘Applaize’ music curation service.

A Hyundai representative stated, “The Casper Electric was prepared with exceptional value and a reasonable price in mind to facilitate true electric vehicle popularity. The Casper Electric will serve as a new standard and the most appealing option for many customers contemplating an electric vehicle purchase.”

Previously unveiled at the Busan Mobility Show, the Casper Electric features differentiated design elements exclusive to Hyundai EV models, such as pixel graphics on the front and rear, creating a futuristic yet unique image.

The side profile showcases a strong presence with pixel-shaped wheel designs, enhancing Casper’s unique persona through robot facial badges engraved on the rear door handle.

The wheelbase has been increased by 180mm compared to the existing Casper, which has expanded second-row legroom, and the trunk length has been lengthened by 100mm, adding 47 liters of cargo space for a total of 280 liters based on VDA standards.

Hyundai equipped the Casper Electric with features such as ▲a 10.25-inch color LCD cluster and navigation, ▲an interactive pixel light steering wheel, and ▲ambient mood lamps, enhancing overall convenience and comfort inside.

A slim electronic shift column is applied to the steering column, while bench-type seating promotes comfortable movement in the first row, further enhancing the living space.

The Casper Electric is powered by a 49kWh NCM battery, delivering a range of up to 315km on a single charge, with the capability to charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes, offering ample urban driving capacity for the Inspiration model with 15-inch alloy wheels (based on 120 kW).

‘Casper Electric Interior’

To provide distinct electric vehicle usability, the Casper Electric is equipped with a V2L function, allowing 220V power supply both inside and outside the vehicle.

The V2L function integrated into the Casper Electric supplies a high power consumption of 3.5kW, facilitating the unrestricted use of electronics and appliances in various outdoor settings such as campsites.

Hyundai has implemented a plethora of advanced convenience and safety features in the Casper Electric that surpass existing models.

A new addition is the ▲Highway Driving Assist (HDA), previously only available in higher class vehicles, alongside features like ▲Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) and ▲Lane Keeping Assist (LFA), enhancing the driving experience.

Additionally, it incorporates the ▲Pedal Misoperation Safety Assist (PMSA) function, which prevents accidents by evaluating situations where obstacles are detected in the front and rear and the driver abruptly presses the accelerator pedal. It limits output or triggers emergency braking based on this analysis. Other new features include the ▲Surround View Monitor (SVM), ▲Rear Parking Collision Avoidance Assist (PCA-R), and ▲Blind-Spot Monitor (BVM), alongside safety specifications that ensure customer protection such as ▲Front Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA), ▲Lane Departure Warning (LKA), ▲Safe Exit Warning (SEW), ▲Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), ▲Driver Attention Warning (DAW), and ▲Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA).

Convenient features that enhance the electric vehicle experience include ▲i-Pedal mode, ▲Digital Key 2 Touch, ▲touch-type door handles for the first row, ▲electric parking brake (including auto-hold), and ▲wireless smartphone charging.
