SK Telecom announced on the 1st that, in celebration of the holiday season, it will launch a ‘Global Travel’ promotion that provides T Membership customers with discounts at local restaurants and shopping in Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, and other destinations.
This promotion has been designed to offer more benefits to T Membership customers during the August holiday season and the September Chuseok holiday, and will run from August 1 to September 30.
During August, SKT will offer a variety of benefits to travelers in Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam, Guam, and Saipan. In September, benefits will be available at various locations throughout Japan. The regions selected are based on analyzing popular travel destinations for Koreans since the declaration of the COVID-19 endemic last year.
SKT customers can enjoy enhanced discounts by combining regular promotional benefits while traveling in Southeast Asia in August. In Bangkok, the popular local restaurant ‘Northeast’ will provide a 50% discount on its popular menu item, ‘Garlic Fried Shrimp’, while ‘Gain’, a Korean restaurant in Da Nang, Vietnam, will offer a complimentary dessert.
In Guam and Saipan, T Membership customers can also enjoy various benefits. Customers will receive a 20% discount on ‘Dolphin Cruise’ tour tickets in Guam, and the restaurant ‘Piology’ will have a 1+1 promotion on its signature pizza, while ‘Olive Garden’ will offer its signature dish ‘Tour of Italy’ for free. In Saipan, the popular restaurant ‘Coco Restaurant’ and the Korean restaurant ‘Cheong-giwa’ will each offer a 50% discount on T-bone steak and LA galbi (one serving), respectively.
SKT plans to expand its partnerships in Japan as well. Starting in September, T Membership customers will have various discounts at popular dining and shopping spots in major Japanese travel destinations, including Osaka and Fukuoka.
Even after the conclusion of the August-September promotion, SKT customers can continue to receive discounts regularly. For example, ‘Piology’ and ‘Olive Garden’ in Guam will offer a 15% discount on signature dishes, while ‘Gain’ in Da Nang will provide a permanent 10% discount.
Additionally, varied permanent discounts are available regionally, so SKT advises customers to check the T Membership app before traveling.
Receiving T Membership benefits locally is simple. Customers just need to present the barcode from the T Membership app when ordering or making payments at partner locations, just like in Korea.
Meanwhile, through the T Membership ‘Global Travel’ service, SKT is providing benefits at over 260,000 partner locations across nine regions worldwide.
