Daimler Trucks AG announced on the 4th of this month that Karin Rödström has been appointed as the new chairwoman. According to the announcement, her term is set to commence on October 1. The former chair, Martin Daum, will continue to serve as a board member of Daimler Trucks AG until the end of this year for a smooth transition.
Martin Daum, who has previously served as chairman of Daimler Trucks AG since 1987, has significantly contributed to the growth of Daimler Trucks as a global leader in commercial vehicles. Since taking office as the President of the Truck and Bus Division of Daimler AG in 2017, he has drastically increased the company’s revenue while improving operating profits, thus securing financial flexibility for future investments. Under his leadership, Daimler Trucks has led technological innovations in the commercial vehicle sector, particularly in electric and hydrogen fuel cell drive systems.
Karin Rödström, the new chairwoman, joined the board of Daimler Trucks in 2021 and has been responsible for the overall management of Mercedes-Benz Trucks. Based on her foresight and entrepreneurial spirit, she has successfully launched several new electric truck models and has taken the lead in improving services to enhance customer satisfaction. Prior to joining Daimler Trucks, she oversaw sales and marketing at the European commercial vehicle specialist Scania and served as Senior Vice President of the bus and coach division.
