Volvo Construction Equipment Korea is launching the new 32-ton large next-generation excavator model, the EC300, in the domestic market. The new EC300 is set to enhance performance, convenience, and design, delivering upgraded capabilities compared to its predecessor, making it a reliable player in various construction sites.
The new EC300 features a powerful engine and a new cooling system, adopts Volvo’s new concept for both interior and exterior design, offers innovative performance enhancements, and improves fuel efficiency and operator convenience, positioning it as an outstanding performer with excellent stability in the next generation of large excavators from Volvo Construction Equipment.
The EC300 is equipped with the proven and powerful Volvo D8M engine, delivering high torque even at low RPM, and providing a more comfortable work environment through low noise, low vibration, and advanced heat reduction technology. The application of a large cooler typically used for 35-ton machinery enhances hydraulic cooling performance, and the installation of the new EGR exhaust after-treatment system significantly improves fuel efficiency.
Following the next-generation excavator lineup design, the Volvo new concept design has been applied. The body features a lower rear height by 100mm, an increased counterweight by 300kg, and features an embedded camera to enhance work convenience and safety. Inside, it includes HD monitors and cameras, deluxe seats, large heated mirrors, as well as button start capability, emergency stop devices, and mode switches for joystick operation, adding to operator convenience.
Additionally, the new fully electro-hydraulic control system delivers smooth and excellent driving maneuverability, with features such as 10 working modes, auto power boost, boom and arm shock reduction, boom descent speed control, and boom and swing priority functions, all enhancing productivity and serviceability. The innovative next-generation smart excavator capabilities also include optional smart packages with dig assist and Volvo Active Control, along with safety work options such as the human-object recognition alarm system and Volvo Smart View for enhanced functionality.
Jae-Tak Lim, Vice President of Volvo Group Korea’s Domestic Sales and Service Division, stated, “The next-generation EC300 large excavator is an innovative model that has made significant leaps in performance, safety, work convenience, and fuel efficiency. We anticipate it will perform well across various construction sites.
