“SK Telecom will present various gifts to customers who pre-order the iPhone 16, including Standby Me and Cinebeam projectors.”

SK Telecom has announced that it will conduct pre-orders for the iPhone 16 & 16 Pro from September 13 to 19, lasting one week.

Celebrating Korea’s inclusion as one of the first countries for the iPhone’s launch, SK Telecom will offer unique services and promotional benefits exclusively available at SKT.

First, SKT will run a daily participatory event called the ‘Daily Lucky Draw’ for customers who pre-order the iPhone 16. From September 13 to October 4, during the 22-day period, about 500 winners will be drawn daily to receive prizes such as the LG Standby Me TV, LG Cinebeam projector, PlayStation 5, and a 5,000 won Naver Pay point. Participants can enter the ‘Lucky Draw’ simply by pre-ordering, and prizes will be shipped individually after the winners activate their devices.

In addition, from September 13 to 26, all new customers who pre-order the iPhone 16 and sign up for A-dot will receive a 7,000 won Naver Pay point. A-dot’s ‘Automatic Recording and Summary’ feature is a unique service available only to SKT customers, inaccessible to other carriers or budget phone users.

Along with this, all SKT customers will receive a free one-year subscription to Perplexity Pro, a conversational search engine from the American unicorn company Perplexity, with whom SKT has recently partnered—valued at approximately 290,000 won. The free Perplexity Pro offer can be applied for on the A-dot event page.

In collaboration with the global entertainment service Netflix, a promotion will also be held to raffle limited edition merchandise, the ‘Netflix Watch Kit.’ The ‘Netflix Watch Kit’ consists of a wireless charging tray, a keychain, and a curation card.

Customers who purchase the iPhone 16 from SKT and subscribe to Netflix-related plans (12 types) or T Universe Netflix subscription services can enter the raffle. The promotion will take place in two rounds: the first from September 13 to 19 and the second from September 20 to 27, with 4,500 winners each time, totaling 9,000 winners. Winners will be notified individually on October 4.

Furthermore, SKT plans to launch an iOS app for ‘ZEM,’ designed to help children develop proper smartphone habits, this month. A raffle will award a 50,000 won gift certificate from Baedal Minjok to a total of 600 participants. The raffle is open to parents of children under the age of 12 who activate an iPhone 16 and link their ZEM app with their child’s app.

Additionally, from September 20 to October 4, all customers who have activated the iPhone 16 with SKT will receive a one-month free access to wavve (Wave) paid content exclusive channel.

In conjunction with the launch of the iPhone 16, SKT will host a special invitation event for pre-order customers on September 20 at 8 AM in Hongdae T Factory. Among the guests will be the ‘Team SK’ members, including France’s Olympic fencing gold medalists Koo Bon-gil, Park Sang-won, and Do Kyung-dong, as well as silver medalist in weightlifting Park Hye-jung. The event will feature various activities and prize draws, with 100 customers selected from those who applied by 9 PM on September 13.

Moreover, customers pre-ordering through SKT’s official online store, T Direct Shop, between September 13 and 19, can benefit from offers such as morning delivery on the day of activation (limited to the first 10,000 customers), ‘Netflix Watch Kit,’ and an immediate trade-in compensation of 100,000 won for old phones (for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus).

Additionally, SKT offers savings of up to 716,000 won over 24 months through partnered card discounts (based on Woori Card + Hana Check Card) and can support up to 700,000 won for old phone compensation through T Assurance.

Furthermore, the monthly fee for device insurance ‘T iPhone Care 16’ will be reduced to 12,600 won (for iPhone 16 Pro model), 14% lower than before, sustaining the unique lost device protection benefit offered by domestic carriers.

Kim Ji-hyeong, head of integrated marketing strategy at SKT, stated, “We have prepared special and diverse pre-order promotions that are only available at SKT, in line with our selection as one of the first launching countries for the iPhone,” and added, “We will continue to present customer-friendly benefits and services to connect with our customers.”
