BMW Korea officially launches the new M4 Competition M xDrive Coupe and the new M4 Competition M xDrive Convertible, both of which have evolved with powerful performance and an intense impression.
The newly unveiled BMW New M4 Coupe and Convertible are high-performance sports models characterized by the explosive driving performance unique to BMW’s high-performance brand, BMW M, along with the elegant style of coupe and convertible bodies. They have been reimagined with a more powerful engine, agile handling performance, enhanced dynamic appeal in their exterior design, and the latest digital technology reflected in their interiors.
In the Korean market, the top trim model, ‘Competition,’ has been launched as the base model, incorporating BMW M’s deep expertise with the all-wheel drive system M xDrive, providing a top-tier driving experience.
Both the BMW New M4 Competition M xDrive Coupe and Convertible feature the BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine, which delivers a peak power of 530 horsepower, an increase of 20 horsepower over the previous model, and a maximum torque of 66.3 kg·m. The New M4 Competition xDrive Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, while the New M4 Competition xDrive Convertible does it in 3.7 seconds.
The M Steptronic Sport 8-speed automatic transmission comes with a drive logic function that allows three different settings for shift points. The M xDrive system can send 100% of power to the rear wheels for perfect rear-wheel drive performance, and when selecting all-wheel drive, it optimally distributes power to all four wheels according to driving situations, ensuring the best handling performance at all times.
The M double-spoke forged wheels are designed in 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear for sharp responsiveness and optimal drivability on the track. The M Servotronic steering system provides high driving stability and steering precision, while the M Compound braking system delivers powerful braking force as standard. The Adaptive M Suspension adjusts damping rates according to driving modes and situations, ensuring optimal performance across various driving environments from daily commutes to sporty driving.
The New M4 showcases a more intense impression with its new adaptive LED headlights and laser rear lights. The vertical daytime running lights reflect the fierce character of high-performance models, while the three-dimensional graphics of the rear lights create a sportier atmosphere.
Moreover, dynamic body lines, muscular wheel arches, and a frameless BMW kidney grille with horizontal bars enhance its overwhelming presence. The Coupe model also features various M-specific design elements such as an M rear spoiler and an M carbon roof.
Inside, the BMW Curved Display features a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inch control display, equipped with a new D-cut M leather steering wheel. The ‘Illuminated Airvent’ ambient light around the central air vents provides subtle lighting that enhances the atmosphere inside the cabin.
The dashboard, door panels, and center console are finished with luxurious M carbon fiber interior trim. The New M4 Coupe features M carbon bucket seats, while the New M4 Convertible includes ventilated M sports seats, both wrapped in Merino leather. M seat belts also come standard.
The BMW New M4 utilizes the latest operating system, ‘BMW Operating System 8.5’, which supports an intuitive interface for a new and convenient user experience. The ‘Quick Select’ feature allows direct access to desired functions without navigating through submenus, and key features can be easily accessed through a menu bar at the bottom of the control display.
Live widgets provide useful information, allowing users to scroll horizontally or vertically to access the desired menu. The main screen can also be swiped left to change the screen type. Additionally, a personalized mode is available for custom settings.
The BMW New M4 is equipped with BMW’s latest driver assistance systems, enabling safe and comfortable everyday driving. The ‘Driving Assistant Professional’ includes active cruise control with stop & go function, collision warning, lane keeping assistance, as well as the ‘Parking Assistant Plus’ featuring parking and reversing assistance with a 3D surround view.
