JLR Korea has announced the launch of the all-new Range Rover and all-new Range Rover Sport plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models to accelerate the modern luxury electrification future. The newly introduced models are the all-new Range Rover Standard Wheelbase (SWB) P550e Autobiography and the all-new Range Rover Sport P550e Dynamic HSE, providing a pure electric driving range of 80 km according to domestic certification standards, maximizing efficiency and sustainability.
The flexible MLA (Modular Longitudinal Architecture)-Flex platform of the Range Rover, which is characterized by its adaptability, is designed to accommodate various powertrains ranging from internal combustion engines to pure electric vehicles. The MLA-Flex platform, the strongest body structure in the brand’s history, perfectly supports the unparalleled performance, agile handling, and top-level sophistication of the all-new Range Rover and all-new Range Rover Sport.
Based on this platform, the all-new Range Rover and all-new Range Rover Sport lineups now feature the new P550e plug-in hybrid powertrain. The P550e plug-in hybrid powertrain combines a 3.0-liter I6 Ingenium gasoline engine with 400 horsepower and a 160 kW electric motor, delivering improved electric driving performance for refined and dynamic driving. The combination of the gasoline engine and electric motor unleashes an overwhelming output of 550 PS and a maximum torque of 81.6 kg·m. The all-new Range Rover, exceeding 5 meters in length, can achieve an impressive 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 5.0 seconds, while the all-new Range Rover Sport, almost 5 meters long, accomplishes this feat in only 4.9 seconds.
Equipped with a high-capacity 38.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, the vehicles can travel 80 km purely on electric energy according to domestic standards. With the increase in pure electric driving range, carbon dioxide emissions have dramatically decreased to about 35 g/km. Additionally, the 50 kW DC fast charging function allows for charging up to 80% within an hour. It can also be fully charged in 5 hours when charged at home with 7.2 kW output.
The new all-new Range Rover SWB P550e Autobiography combines the exceptional quality unique to Range Rover, offering a new level of elegance in luxury SUVs, while providing an attractive balance between driving performance, sophistication, and driving dynamics.
By combining electronic air suspension that provides the best ride comfort anywhere with state-of-the-art plug-in hybrid powertrain technology, it ensures outstanding stability under various driving conditions. The completely independent electronic air suspension works with the industry’s best air spring volume and an innovative two-stage damper that responds within 12 milliseconds, correcting the suspension in real time based on road surface undulations to optimize rolling and pitching for a comfortable ride. Advanced driving technologies, such as all-wheel steering that enhances stability at high speeds and agility at low speeds, dynamic response pro that controls body movements, and the intelligent driveline dynamics (IDD) system that provides optimal traction on and off-road, deliver a driving experience of a different dimension.
The all-new Range Rover SWB P550e Autobiography comes standard with high-quality digital LED headlights with a beam range of up to 500 meters, optimizing visibility and enhancing safety while driving. Signature daytime running lights (DRLs), dynamic turn signals, adaptive front lighting, and image projection technology showcase the most advanced headlight technology.
The interior features innovative and intuitive technologies focused on premium materials and well-being. This allows the all-new Range Rover to become a space where all passengers can enjoy the journey and find tranquility at every outing. Both front and rear seats are equipped with a hot stone massage function to minimize fatigue and enhance comfort even during long drives. Notably, the rear executive-class seats offer reclining functions along with an 8-inch rear seat touchscreen controller mounted on the armrest, heated footrests, and leg rests, allowing an experience of first-class comfort fully.
Advanced speaker technology based on the sophistication of the MLA-Flex architecture creates a tranquil and serene interior space. The 1,680W Meridian Signature Sound System, equipped with 60mm speakers mounted in four main headrests for the first time in the world, delivers a rich sound experience akin to a concert hall. The third-generation active noise canceling system monitors wheel vibrations, tire, and engine noise entering the cabin and ensures optimum interior quietness by sending opposing waves through the speakers.
The all-new Range Rover SWB P550e Autobiography comes equipped with the innovative Cabin Air Purification Pro system that suppresses viral growth to maintain excellent indoor air quality, ensuring a pleasant driving environment. Activating the system’s ionizer function automatically detects and reduces fine particles, dust, and allergens, such as pollen, through a PM 2.5 filter. Additionally, the ‘CO2 management’ function lowers carbon dioxide levels by circulating air, while the ‘ION’ function, using Nanoe™ X technology, purifies viruses and removes odors from clothes, creating a differentiated indoor environment suitable for a premium luxury SUV.
The all-new Range Rover Sport P550e Dynamic HSE boasts a plug-in hybrid powertrain and a variety of next-generation driving technologies that offer dynamic and refined performance. The dynamic air suspension expands the operational bandwidth of the suspension with a dual-structure air chamber. The electronically controlled valves adjust the internal pressure more quickly and precisely, aiding in providing a more stable ride. For the first time in the brand’s history, switchable volume air springs have been introduced, delivering the ultimate comfort and control.
Dynamic Response Pro provides electronically precise torque of up to 1,400 Nm through the latest 48V electronic roll control system (eARC), greatly reducing the vehicle’s rolling angle even during high-speed cornering or emergencies. Furthermore, the Adaptive Dynamics technology monitors over 100 parameters up to 500 times per second to determine the needed responsiveness. This minimizes unnecessary body movements, such as body rolling during cornering and pitching under hard braking.
The outstanding cornering performance of the all-new Range Rover Sport P550e Dynamic HSE has been further refined through the electronic active differential, which includes all-wheel steering and braking-based torque vectoring systems. Notably, all-wheel steering adjusts the rotation direction of the axles based on driving conditions, delivering agile and stable driving performance. The rear axle can be steered up to 7.3 degrees.
Many high-level convenience features that offer modern luxury experiences are also equipped, including ▲ cabin air purification plus system ▲ premium semi-aniline leather seats ▲ center console cooler storage, allowing one to experience the unique luxury of Range Rover. Additionally, the Meridian 3D surround sound system, provided as a standard feature, delivers clear and rich sound akin to a live performance through 19 front, side, and rear speakers, an 800W amplifier output, and dual-channel subwoofers.
The all-new Range Rover Sport P550e Dynamic HSE is equipped with a 13.1-inch curved floating glass touchscreen featuring the PIVI Pro infotainment system. PIVI Pro allows users to access 80% of the entire functionality with just two touches and comes with built-in T-map navigation. Moreover, drivers can easily check the optimal route through the 13.7-inch semi-floating interactive driver display.
JLR Korea provides Range Rover branded charging cards to customers purchasing the all-new Range Rover and all-new Range Rover Sport plug-in hybrid models. They also offer the option of paid installation of home chargers for customers upon delivery. The issuance of charging cards and installation of chargers is supported through dedicated Range Rover concierges.
The domestic selling price, including a five-year service plan package, is 234.7 million won for the all-new Range Rover SWB P550e Autobiography and 187.1 million won for the all-new Range Rover Sport P550e Dynamic HSE. More detailed information can be found on the Range Rover website.
